What followed was too much for words, a bright light came from the altar, bathing the cave in an unearthly light. horrible details became visible, blood marks on the wall which were the silent remains of horrible deeds ... divices were detached in between iron rings, to hold an innocent creatures and torture them untill they broke ...
But all of that was invisible to Elendirill, right in front of him ... Feraila stood right in front of him. Touching his hands on Mari's shoulder ... And Mari was glowing with a golden aura, never could he repay her for what she had done for him, even if he could give her the earth, the moon and the stars, it wouldn't compensate for what she had given him ...
So this is what happiness feels like ... he could see into Feraila's eyes, he could see the surprise from her side too ... Her lips were moving, but too slow, he couldn't hear what she was trying to say. A strange feeling came from the corners of his mouth ... and he knew why, it has been too long since he could laugh again, and he did, he looked upwards and laughed as loud as he could ... but again he couldn't hear a sound ... it didn't matter.
The touch of her hands, the exchange of warmth between the both of them, it was like he hadn't really felt anything before ... he could feel every tender finger, both perfect thumbs ... this feeling should last forever ... and it did
.
Elendirill fell down on the dusty cave floor, lifeless like the pieces of altar scathered all around ...
