The infamous Tingalf easily broken quest.

I see many posts on it and have read the search stuff posted here,one said there are so many NPC's involved with this one that the quest is broken easily.
Anyways, I guess I killed the bad guys in the sewer, Tingalfs gang I think,to early on and messed that part up wayyyyyyyy back when, so they say hey find his cache of goodies and well I looted that area a long time ago and killed all those bandits before I ever got that quest, still I am directed to Trevor who says go to Rivertown and find proof of Tingies guilt.
I'd like to bust this creep if possible.

Did you kill the guys who murdered the poor merchants with the broken whell on their "lorry" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />? If yes look if you have got some evidence in your Inventory...

...if you don´t have take a look at the cave again and search for one...

Speak with Marcus, Tingalf, and so on again.

What makes me a bit confused is that Tingalfs Gang isn´t in the sewers before you get the quest and the leader of the gang doesn´t become hostile until you made something specific in this quest... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Tres Interesting. It was quite a ways back when I decided to romp around and kill everything in the sewers below Rivertown. Right near the entrance there was one boss type bandit or whatever he was and his flunkies. Tough characters at that time but I killed them and looted everything, like 4 chests I think and went on my merry way.

I shall try what you suggest, maybe I missed a note that I should have because yes, I did avange the poor wagoneers after following the blood trail.

I finished that quest, and lieutenant Robin indicated that he would go arrest Tingalf, but Tingalf is nevertheless still on his corner, and I can still deal with him. Weird.

though, a nice one.
I like having a steady supply of scorpions and lockpicks, plus all the stuff you can steal from him (pickpocket) and sell to Geoff (he has 50k) after 20 minutes, you'll have 100k gold.
like 2 hours to have 1.5 million gold.
