no i don't think Mustain got the riffs because RTL is from the Ride The Lightning (same name) album, and that was the second METALLICA record with line-up
James Hetfield (rhythm guitar, vocals, still in the Metallica)
Lars Ulrich (drumms, still in Metallica)
Kirk Hammett (lead guitar, still in the band - the guy that Metallica hired after Dave Mustain from Megadeth was fired)
and Cliff Burton("LEAD!" bass guitar, R.I.P. -today Metallica's bass player is Robert Trujillo)
Dave was part of Metallica even before their first album (Kill 'Em All) and he did left some riffs but it's not RTL - it's The Mechanix or as James Hetfield renamed it after changing a little bit the riffs - The Four Horsemen...
so, as a conclusion of this brief history of Metallica, the GREATEST metal band ever, i'll just add: Dave Mustaine is a selfis moron, who just can't get it through his stone hard head that METALLICA is a SUCCESS without him...
also, I appologize to all Dave Mustaine, or Megadeth fans but it's Sad But True...
