About your question, i can tell you that, even in 100 years, in France we will continue to talk in french.
Many US people think that all the other nations should talk in english, they are wrong.
They must begin to do an effort and learn other languages !
A little peek to Lews who is from US and who do some efforts to talk in french or german.

I said what i think, english is very useful to talk with other persons, but there are many beautiful languages like italian or spanish.
Economy is not a good reason to kill these languages.
