I can't find appropriate words to express my feelings towards you guys. Thank you Faralas, thank you Spick. You are the best!

[color:"orange"] Thanks, Egin. Anytime! It never even occurred to me to ask if you had loaded all 4 discs on to your hard drive. *shrugs* I don't remember PS:T's install instructions, but I think I automatically loaded the whole thing because I remember inserting all 4 discs at the time thinking "man, this is taking FOREVER." But, really, it didn't take that long to load. I was simply being impatient. Plus, I loaded the whole game because I have a lot of room on my hard drive. In fact, I've got a lot of games installed on my computer. TES: Morrowind, (including their 2 expansions, Tribunal and Bloodmoon) plus The Construction Set that came with it, Diablo I, II and the Expansion pack, PS:T, Divine Divinity, and a ton of old Text games that no one probably remembers (Colossal Cave, Crypt, Gothic, Zork, yadda, yadda, yadda).

Faralas. I seem you are playing as the bad guy?

[color:"orange"] After being an angel in Divine Divinity, I decided to play PS:T strictly for *myself* which means (to me) if I'm in a greedy mood, I'll take it. If not -- *shrugs* so what? But, you'd think after everyone I've killed in PS:T that my alignment would be at least chaotic - but it's not!
It's "True Neutral" Oh well, that could change with the next click of my mouse! Mwahhhaaaahaaaaaa!

I was Lawful Good. That means I could use... a, ah, certain weapon. The game rewards you for playing any alignment actually, unlike most games where being good also means being a loser.

I have that drop of blood, that can be used by lawful good characters only.
I am currently neutral good also. Nothing could make me better, or I am doing bad things time to time.

Faralas.
You have installed the game, but you know, the game still loads some components from disks, you can't play without them in your drive.
My idea was to copy the contents of all cd's onto HDD and in torment.ini show the appropriate paths. This will shorten game load time.

Actually, now, I know for sure what problem do I have. CD3 became unreadable with a course of a time. The good thing is that now I know what is the problem, and how to solve it. Because I thought that my cd-rom drive is not functioning properly.

That's good news, Egin. Yeah, I know the game runs off of the disks. It's just some people like to customize the installation of their games. I couldn't remember if PS:T had that option. Plus, I'm not a computer wiz, so I let the game's software install as "recommended" (by the publisher). There are times I wish I knew how to link the files, but that's a whole different language to me.

Btw, my alignment changes in the decision-making process and doesn't seem to depend on how many creatures I kill. So far, I've only killed NPCs who attack me. And on some occasions, the NPC doesn't like my response and will turn hostile. That's when he/she goes down in flames! (LOL)

[color:"red"] **************** SPOILER ************************

I finished Pharod's quest and returned the Bronze sphere to him. Annah joined my group and the next time I start the game, I'm going through the Tenement of Thugs.

I have the decapitated heads of Hargrimm, Acaste, Stale Mary, The Silent King and Soego. I don't know if I'm supposed to save them, or what. For now, I'm lugging them with me. Plus, I've found Gris but I haven't found his stash. I know where he *says* he put both items, but I have yet to find them. I also have the severed arm; returned to Fell and got some cool tattoos. TNO is still a mage. I like using some of the spells. A couple of them are awesome. (Can't remember their names but I like the visual effects).

So, that's where I'm at! Having fun. Glad you figured out what's wrong with your 3rd disc, Egin. Enjoy!

You've got the *what*? Did you slaughter the entire Dead Nations? You only need one 'special' head, you can discard the rest, I think. By the way, you weren't really supposed to kill Hagrimm and the rest.

Well, I guess I screwed up, Stormrider. I wonder if I can bring them back to life (through a spell or one of the divine censers) since I still have their heads. That would be something worth checking out. Besides, I'm way past that part of the game, otherwise I'd go back and replay it. But, as I understand it, in PS:T (as well as other RPG's), there is no 'right' or 'wrong' way to play, ergo what one is "supposed" to do becomes a moot point.

Game developers are a creative bunch. I give them a lot of credit because building a storyline like PS:T is extremely intricate. It requires getting inside the player's and character's skin to think about how each one will respond to different alignments and situations. That's why I think PS:T is such an outstanding game.

Thanks for your help, Stormrider! I appreciate your input.

I have heard that it is very important what you do in the beginning of the game. Later on allingment will be less affected. That's what I have heard somewhere on forums.

'Tis the beauty of being able to save games. I'm impressed that your alignment didn't change. That's really cool because (to me) that means you were consistent in your decisions, thus staying in "character". I'm a bit too moody to do that! LOL When my frustration level wanes I tend to slip out of character and make rash decisions. Thank Gods I'm not that way in real life! (Yeah, right!!!)

Enjoy your weekend, Spick!

Oh! Almost forgot. I found my PS:T player's manual. I've only leafed through it, but plan on checking it out to see if there are any features of the game I've missed. The killer is, it was in my bookcase that's right next to my computer wedged between two huge books. So close, yet so far away!

You are right. In my previous game, long ago, I remember something happened in a buried village, it wasn't a fight, just some conversation with someone. I tend to think this was the guy who misses his knife, but maybe I am mistaken. Just one conversation changed my allingment in a bad way, it went down. My previous save was somewhere miles behind, so I kept going. I was never able to restore allingment again.

It didn't? Wow, mine fluctuated constantly between Neutral Good and Lawful Good. It settled on LG in the end.

Finally, I am at the end of a long road.

Searching for third CD.

I started to look at local forums, and one guy responded, he was kind enough to upload third CD on FTP. I have downloaded it and burned on CD. No reinstalls needed, just insert new cd when asked and enjoy, everything loads just fine. Yay
