well, what i know of the serpents is that moses's half-brother, aaron was the dude who threw his staff on the ground & God made it turn into a serpent. this is a display to show their oppressors that God is real & not to be trifled with. of course, the oppressors have their mage do the same trick, which led to Moses's God giving the evil dudes plague.

if i'm wrong, please correct me.

You are correct of course concerning the biblical account.
Long time ago there was an Egyptian Movie called “Solomon’s Ring” and the man who found the ring could summon a genie that fulfils almost all his wishes except life death and love. That film was originally in Arabic but it was translated into French, Italian and English for a Contest in Can.

What I am saying is that it is not true that films based on an item related to a Koran Sacred figure (Prophet) should be offensive even to Islamic fanatics.

If I gave a title to my post as “ The Staff of Janggut “ no one ever would have figured out what that artefact could do. It is because I gave it its true name that you could figure out what I was talking about.

The Larian Studios have both choices valid and they could call it the Staff of the Divine One or the Staff of Mostachiles or even the Staff of DAD, but that is not the issue as the issue is implementing a magical wand that can cause an earthquake (effect) and can split the waters (effect).
The seven plagues are already implemented and they are not new at all.
The spell of summoning a swarm of insects (for example) had been implemented in several games already.

On the other hand, wouldn’t a religious person want to know how it feels to split the waters by command?
No offence at all there because a game is what a game is and it is virtual environment in which you play a role.
What is so offensive about playing the role of Moses or Jesus after you have played the role of GOD himself?

Come on people, it is all related to intentions and quality. If the game is not ridiculing the Biblical accounts and respecting the freedom of belief then where would offence come from?

What if in the real life the Staff of Moses was really found!
It would be just like any stick in fact and most probably useless.
The magic was in the promise of course because God was supporting his man.
In our games we play we do not pray.
