so check this out. i start a brand new game, teleport via hex editor (thanks raze and kiya) to get some thunder plate armor, and use my pyramid to get back. then i want to save and quit so i can teleport to geoffs shop. but i cant save. i tried saving in differant areas like catacombs and whats his names basement. no matter what i did i couldnt save. its like the option just wasnt on the list, ya know. i have the latest patch and blah blah blah. is there some bug where if you teleport via hex edit the save option goes away? thanks in advance.

In some parts of the game, were the story doesn't allow you too. Maybe the area with the Thunderplate armor was origanally one of those areas.

Not sure.

i just tried it again and i picked up half the items, went back to aleroth, droped them and saved. went back picked up the rest of the stuff, went back to aleroth and wasnt able to save. so, in conclusion, i think you are right. one of the items is something im not supposed to have yet........hmmm, i wonder which one. what do you think:
1. grain order bill
2. thunderplate armor
3. phunbras (whatever) dagger
4. one of the two treasure maps
5. that cool scimatar
6. that spell book (how do i get that identified anyway)
7. one of the tree branches
8. drwaven gold breastplate
9. i forget the rest of the stuff. ther was some cool armor and a bunch of keys though.

wadda ya think it could be?

hmm. let me think. its probably one connected to a quest in a big way. let me think, or ask someone else. maybe pick up the items and drop them one by one and see if you can save to find out

i fingured it. it was two things.
1. there is two treasure maps. you have to look at them in the right order( top one first).
2. the dragon armor. once its identified you cant save. i dunno why, i was wearing the dragon belt.

This is strange indeed. I would've thought it was one of the items you took from the In-Between-World that didn't allow saving. Please, keep in mind -> those items there are not in the real game plot.

Where did you get all? From this world or partly properly via playing the game? The In-Between-World is merely for exploring because the Larians didn't figure out that gamers would enter it. IIRC, Barnie "Livingstone" recommended using an extra save for this world.
Kiya

BTW, I have never been there myself - I'm too scared to corrupt my saves.

Hmm, if I understand correctly, you took all from this world, correct? Then I understand the Dragonarmour thingie -> you get it pretty late in the main game plot -> after having been in the Castle, saving Zandalor, retrieving 6 Council members (Dwarf) and solving a subquest for Sir Patrick.

I can't understand the map restriction though - they can be obtained without a quest, save one -> the one from Mpenzak has to come via speech option

i went to the hex coordinates that you gave me for the thunderplate armor. there was much more then just that there. all the stuff listed above, plus about 20 keys. one of the keys was actually locked. like, in the description of it it said "platnium key [color:"red"] locked. [color:"black"] it was definatly one of the quest items. ie the dragon armor or the treasure maps.

anyway, i kept playing and after a little will a message popped up about a cut scene that hasnt ended yet and it wont let me save. so i just started killing everyone til i got tired.

kiya if you havent been there you should check it out. its kinda neat.

Hmm, considering the cut scene: If you free Zandalor in the game, you have 2 cut scenes and this one comes before you get the dragon armour - a long time before that.

Ah, Gridlock, I'm content with the pics I saw, I don't want to corrupt my saves, I might need them. I'll ask Barnie about your prob, ok?

Well, I guess it's like this - those are no real "public" items. Some of them are tied to several known conditions. For 2 treasure maps there has to be a conversation first - this is the same for the Dragon armour (via game plot)

I don't have a 100% explanation, but this makes sense.
