I just bought this game today, and after finishing the first two chapters, would just like to reccomend it to all graphic adventure fans (I know you are out there(Kiya <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />). Its not another Longest Journey or anything, but it is great fun so far and the production values are incredible. Honestly, its like playing a Disney cartoon, the graphics are that good.

The plot starts with a young student begining a road trip from New York to California, but before he can even leave the city he hits a young woman with his car. Upon taking her to hospital he finds himself deep in an adventure he never planned.

I cant stop playing it. It is that good.

Is it a new game or an older one?

Its fairly new. Its been out in English for about three months or so. It was originally in Spanish, I have no Idea how long it has been available there. The game designers originally made freeware adventures (I think Teen Agent was one of their free games). It is wonderful to see how far they have come, and even better to see that this genre is still alive and well and truly kicking.

Not that I can see, but there is a busty female. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> Runaway: A Road Adventure. The game caught my eye too (even without the busty female). Maybe I'll have to get it...

@Jolie: I dont think there is a demo. I think the amount of movies and stuff in the game would make it to big a download!

I've seen mention of wonky demos in the past ("may not run on all systems"... &/or requires a specific codec), but most of the links to them don't work anymore. File seems to still be available on FilePlanet, tho', if you have the patience to wait in their blasted queues.

Is Runaway still worth playing? Yes. But lets just say if you have a swear jar at your house you better make an extra one because the old one is going to be full soon.

Ohhhh! The new Broken Sword is coming soon. I cant wait. As much as these games frustrate me, they make up for it in delight. Oh, and there is plenty of room for you in the light of nostalgia.

I'd love to have broken sword and Road adventure.... I'm not good at them, but I love the genre and moslty also the humor <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

I've got NFS:U since yesterday, played it an hour an soooo sweeeet

next purchases: PGR2 and (Amped2 or SSX3).. but got to wait a bit first

The game is known here in Germany for about a year or so now. It's seemingly very funny, but I haven't bought it yet.

The makers wanted to produce more classic-style Adventures ... seemingly a good invest, since there are so few out there nowadays.

There is a demo, but I'm not sure where you can download it anymore... I remember you needed to install some drivers to see anything....

Ok Ive finally solved this game and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Its not as good a game as the Longest Journey in terms of story and its not as good as Syberia in terms of atmosphere, but it holds its own well enough on its own merits, and definately has its own sense of style. Its a lot lighter than either of the other two games and perhaps it suffers slightly from this in terms of how you will look back on it, but it is still worth going through for any adventure fan. Oh, and be sure to keep watching after the credits have rolled <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

aaah Syberia... lovely game, a bit too short. can't wait for Syberia II
