Ok
here's the thing
I've been receiving A LOT OF HATE MAIL for a post I made here about saying that the game was too easy. I'm not going to say the names of the persons that write those mails but I do have to say to all of you who write those, NO MATTER WHAT, THE GAME IS STILL EASY. Now maybe I can just play with one hand and the other holding a glass of acid, while my legs are tied and I'm dancing in a ring of fire, maybe the will be some challenge to me but still tha game is easy.


Note:
to all larian people, developers programers, etc, etc, I love the game and I don't care if the game is easy or difficult, you people have acomplished a tremendous work of art with this game and I love playing it over and over again
the comments mention earlier was just a personal opinion and nothing more, I hope I HAVE NOT OFFENDED ANYONE HERE, I just wanted to give a simple opinion of the game.

just a suggestion if the game is to easy try being a warrior with no charms on hard, or be a warrior on hard with no holy weapons <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> or somthing like that.

...or even better, don't level up. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

Just let those points build!!

But seriously, games suffer from either being to hard (frustrating to the point you dont care and give up) or too easy (nothing that happens appears to be an obstacle)!

Rewarding - when you complete a quest...and not all quests are obvious or easy.

Dangerous - you just left the healer village and those damn heavy orcs are not being nice...run back to the gate...please help me Seth!!!

Balanced - a hard thing to acheive in a big game where freedom is key...some areas are easy, some are hard...you're perception of 'difficulty' will change depending on where you're going on the map. And always following the route (where people are telling you to go) gives just the right balance to keep the game going without ever getting too frustrated.

It's a story that moves along, and is generally not stopped by some too tough foe (maybe the odd time <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" /> )but by your own thinking of how to complete the next quest. Which is just perfect!!

That's what the difficultly options should say...steady pace, joy to play!

I think what makes the game easy is thar your character can run faster than most of the enemies in the game.

Now do not think I use that to run like a chiken when I'm in danger but it makes the fighting easier because you can evade attacks, (even arrows) by running.

Now you can't outrun all enemies but most of them you can

I have done all those things, not level up, wear no armor, use just a puny knife, no scorpion traps, etc, etc.... and the game becomes very difficult, but if you follow the plot and the game like you're supposed to, the game is easy.

No matter what easy or hard, this RPG is the best one I've ever play in my PC(my favorite rpg are all Dragon Warrior series, but wrong forum for that, sorry)

Well I have to agree, the game does get too easy from mid game to end.

Maybe it's just a difference about the word definition "easy"?
Easy -> boring?
easy -> having fun and enjoying it because frustration lvl is low?
easy to understand the game?

I found the game difficult during my 1st game, until I had found out tactics to "ease" my life there. Then I only had fun - but it took me 3 games to actually enjoy some places and not get stressed (Aleroth catacombs and the Wastelands).

So, from your posts I gather this, oBosch: You found the game easy, because you could survive it easily? If so, I don't understand "hate mails" - maybe these gamers had a different definition of the word.

That is a nice way of explain it.

Easy in a way that you do not get angry by enemies killing you.

Easy in a way that you do not have to go to a Yoga class before and after playing <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> to meditate and have all your anger taken away.

Easy in a way that you can enjoy the game in all aspects without having to take some stress relieve pills affter you're done playing

That's the kind of easy I was talking about.......

jejeje, now I see why all those e-mails, maybe they thought I was saying that the game was boring for being easy, If that's the case, Then my apollogies for all the misunderstanding.

I do find it strange that at one hp you can outrun orcs or whatever your fighting, it might be to hard if you couldn't outrun them though, because a mage most of the time has to stay back and shoot, and if your out of mana you gotta run back to town to get more restorations. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

Yes I understand but even a mage, if out of mana, you can use a bow and arrow, or a knife, to kill the orcs. at least that's what I do.

so I guess thats the reason you can outrun the orcs or whatever your fighting.

I really do not want to take pills after a game I play <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />. I want a game not too hard so I can enjoy, relax playing and have a good time <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Yes, but keep in mind there is the orc chief in the orc camp just outside where you give the slasher to the Shirmuc(or something like that, I do not remember) that runs just as fast as you can, now ther is some fun, you're out of mana, no good weapon, no good armor, your health is below half, hehehehe, brings back a lot of good memories......anyway, josefina is another enemy you can't outrun, but this is good in a way because it will be less fun if you just can outrun every enemy in the game. hahahahaha, still remember the first time I saw that fast orc running after me while I watch my stamina drop, hehehe.
