I'm not sure whgether anyone has yet discovered this tiny bug here, which can actually only be discovered when you are cheating - IF YOU DON't WANT TO CHEAT, DON'T SCROLL DOWN!!!!!!

Now, everyone already knows the duplication trick (BTW, all the RPG games have almost the same problem with "cursor not being refreshed when save/load, see: Diablo). I tried it with Finnigan's lockpicks:

1. NO matter how much are duplicated, only the instance of putting them into inventory is counted, and each pack of finnigans magic lockpicks is treated by the game as one lockpick (+20 to agility, neverending lockpick).

2. When putting them one-by-one into inventory, they sum up and become a bunch.

3. When pulling the bunch out of the inventory to the ground, barrel, etc, game diminishes your agility only by one instance (-20 to agility)...but

4. hey, what happened to all the other from the bunch?? see my point? each time i put only one of the lockpicks, the game adds me 20 dexterity; but when i pull the 20, 40, 60, pack of them the game only subtracts one instance...

5. LOL, you have 300, 400, 500 of agility... *grunts* not much use though, as this does nothing for your agiliness, as the percentage of being hit/hitting never raises - stays at 19%/94%....

Any idea about how to avoid duplicating by cursor in future? Hope RR won't have this bug anymore....;)

You will have a gun on you; but are not to use it under any circumstances- it's only to strengthen your authority. (EH)

Well done! I haven't seen that trick used that way before!

The best scores you can have for Offense and Defense are 94% and 19%, hence why they stopped changing.

just as a PS.: bug works backwards too. For those tired of easy playing, try taking out the lockpicks one by one (use ctrl if you need)... I was surprised to see 0 where 100 or something used to be AND it was just a false zero, you can actually find out, that where zero is displayed, there actually is a negative value... GAME BECOMES #$%@! tiring for those liking melee, so try that (only if you like chetaing, I mean!!!)
Regs, Propheet.

Just a quick question, if you are a programmer and/or studying to become one, does it take away from the game?? i.e. do you find yourself analising what's happening and how it is done?

I myself work in the Hospitality Industry and very seldom go out for dinner, cause I just tend to look at where do the plates come from how much does this beef fillet cost and why are they charging that much ?

I know what style was used and what for, what were the most intelligible cultural/literatural/gaming links in the plot of DD, and in the Game as such. And still, I do not have the feeling that you get when eating beef...though I still analyse what is going to happen, and try to predict events. But then again, who doesn't??

I am a medeocre coder. I have a fair understanding of what's required for games. It actually adds to the game and I can appreciate it on many different levels.

Excellent gameplay lets me think about what rules are running behind the scenes. I can learn how to use the game-engine to my advantage. On the other hand, poor gameplay makes me sit and think "I could do so much better. Here's how...". Amazing graphics don't impress me as much, but I can see what effects they might be using or overlapping. I even disect the control system.

Having coding knowledge lets me understand the game better and can even help me exploit failings in the game (for when I get desperate). Most importantly, when something goes wrong, I can determine if I'm and idiot or if the game is actually stuffed. It makes it a lot less frustrating when you can finally accept that it's a bug/feature and that the game will not play fair whatever you do. You can't do anything about it (bar patching) and that's the bottom line.
