I have a few questions now that I've finally made my way to Stormfist Castle, but first I have to say one thing about Duke Janus.

I really hope there comes a point in the game when Kuarage (my female survivour) gets to bury Slasher in his fat ugly head. Janus si very lucky for two things a) he's ficticious and b) he never went to my school because if he did he'd be one of the kids that was forced to give up his lunch money to the biogger kids and he probably would have set the record for most amount of butt kickings and being on the receiving end af many swirlies...

Rant aside, here's my questions:

1) Why can I not use my lockpick skill? This is aggravating because there's so many locked doors and chests and there's no in game explanation other than "Hey pal, stop trying to use your lockpick skill because you simpley can't." I see no reason why shouldn't be able to. It's as goofy as the time I tried to get Kurage to go to sleep because she had only a meager amount of health and zero mana. When I clicked on the bed she goes, "This is no time to sleep!" I yelled back, "IT'S A PERFECT TIME TO SLEEP! NOW GET YOUR BUTT IN THE BED, WOMAN!" Pheh, women!

2) Why can't I pickpockets on anyone? Everytime I try, whether it's a guard or some lowlife peasant, I get caught. I did an experiment and used an editor to boost my pickpocket skill up to five and she's supposed to be able to pick the pockets of anyone up to level 30, but she can't even pick the pocket of a blind man in a wheelchair...

3) What's the Rate stuff? I recenlty acquired the regeneration skill and it says that Kurags will regenerate at a rate of 12. 12 what? 12 seconds? 12 minutes? 12 time units? Basically, I just want to know is how many hitpoints she is currently regenerating in a clear and concise explanation (ie X amount of hitpoints per second.) Also, how long is a time unit anyway?

You do get to kill Janus later in the game.

You can use magic in the cellar of the building in the north west corner of the castle complex. Carry the chests there to be opened, or toss them out the front gate or over the wall. There are a couple keys around, as well.

Try standing behind NPCs and maybe use your sneak skill or a shadow potion before trying to Pickpocket. Tingalf can be pickpocketed with level 4 or 5.

Level 1 of Survivor's Instinct gives you 1 hit point every 12 seconds (1 time unit = 1 second). This can be handy to top off your health whenever you drop off loot or trade, but needs to be maxed for best effect.

Any particular reason I can't use magic *in* the castle? I only ofund one key and that was for the armoury where I found a really kicking shield, though I don't know if I'll be able to get it again because the game messed up and it stuck me in a cutscene mode even though the cutscene was over, so I had to quit the game.

I've recently acquired (read stole) a chemist set. Can I use this? If so, how and what does it do?

Also, how do I get my teleporter stones back from that stupid Imp?

Do items left on the ground disappear after a while? I ask this because during the cut scene where the orcs attack and Janus has you tossed out on the streets there were quite a few gooodies left laying around that I wanted to grab.

Also, what's the highest rating charm you can get?

Was a pleasure, Mick
Kiya

My HP is just laziness - so I don't have to search for so many links, not finished yet (lazy again )

I'm wicked tired. It took me a couple minutes to figure out what HP meant. I kept thinking Hewitt Packard...

I really need to work on my homepage, but a combination of laziness and ingorance has kept me from going forth.

I found an arrow the other day when playing the game. it doesn't list any properties, but I can equip it as a weapon. When I do so, Kurage goes invisible as long as he's standing still, but bad guys can still see her. By invisible, I mean she disappears from the screen.

I can attack with it, but it acts like my fists.

Any idea what use this is, if any?

I just found an arrow myself.

I think it spawns a creature after grabbing it.

As far as my experience goes (and it doesn't go very far, which means I may be wrong) arrows don't do anything reasonable - they just are. Don't ask me why anyone bothered to place useless items in the game...

Hmm all together in my last game I found 5 arrows, at first I thought "Oh blast it don't tell me I need to buy arrows now" then found out that you don't need arrows, never bother to equip it (hah! don/t even know if it would equip in the shield slot or what) eventually got to the wastelands and still hadn't used it, so I sold them, and figured that some Bowman once had practice sessions all over Rivelon and didn't bother to pick up his arrows.

Then I chucked the whole arrow thing in with plates, dinners alchemy sets and other cosmetica.

In short my feeling they are just cosmetic items to make the roleplay a little more realistic.

Like in Daggerfall, if you got shot with an Arrow you would eventually find the thing in your inventory, as in you cut out the offending and sometimes painfull arrow and re-used it on someone else until it wore out

The arrow I found was stuck in a rib cage that was laying on the ground.

I thought when I pulled it out a Troll King spawned, but I guess it was just timing and the creature walked up on me as I was pulling it out. After killing the Troll King he dropped a bow, so I thought it was his arrow.

Well that's some sort of explanation:
Once upon a time in a land far away which was called Rivelon there lived a Troll King who in his spare time between looting people, started to practice bow shooting. As he was a king he didn't bother to pick up the arrows he had already fired. Unfortunately the troll king never became an expert bowman because he was slain by some adventurer who was passing by the King's cave..
Doesn't make much sense, but then again does it have to make sense?

I think you may be onto something because this was outside land near the Archer's Guild!

Maybe a young Elven archer bored with target practice ventured out seeking something better to shoot at. Being careless he was startled by the Troll King, causing the young Elf to drop his bow and run away in fear.

The Troll King scared me when I saw the damage he could do.
