Just a smallish point about bugginess and the pirates.
Yes, there I am - I admit it!
First time I've heard about DD from a friend, who made me (sic!!!) a pirated copy. It was somewhat 4 months of playing and i mean - addict's playing, that I reconsidered the matter, cause I realised how much work was put in this particular game. I'm not brown-nosing or bu.tt-licking here, if you ask, I just want to say, that I bought an original, and now that I have it I won't resort to doing the same thing with RR. On few occasions, and with few games, -Diablo is not included, BTW!!!, I had this feeling, that I'd rather paid out for the pleasure. RRR will probably be the third original CD in my collection. If dear Bill Doors (you-know-who) had made such a buggy system (but addictive in a positive way), MS would never suffer from pirates. The same about games and gamers. LArians- make more games of a kind, we won't have to steal- sheer feeling of gratitude would make most of us quitting on the pirating.

There'd still be pirates. They don't care in the slightest about how much work goes into these games/programs. They just want them all because they can. I know of people with absolute libraries of software that they'll never touch. ow if one of them would just piss me off, I could collect the reward money...

I am always sceptical about pirates. Once a pirate always a pirate. That is what I believe. Well I don´t know about Microsoft. After all they sell their products very expensive and they have made millions -what am I saying?- billions. But the games is another story. So many people work for one project. I have noticed from the pictures Myrthos provided us from his visit in Larian studios that they sleep in there, so I suppose that they work like dogs for a game that it is not sure that it will be profitable. I mean you never know. So I give gladly my money for an original game. Even though sometimes it is hard for me, I keep doing it. Because first of all I respect the people who have worked for a project so hard. I wouldn´t like to work and not get payed. I wouldn´t like to create something and someone take it and use it, sell it, give it for free.
So I never give my games to anyone. I say how good a game is and if someone wants to know more about it, I show it to him/her in my pc. But I don´t give for copies. I think it is something we all should do.

Think of it this way. If you want to have always new games comming, then you should support the companies they make them. So simple.

I like you. Really Wish I will get pissed off too...

I wonder when Microsoft starts planning on making an OS without any bugs.

A system without bugs, don't give enough money for microsoft, so is more easy to do something with some bugs, or how they can see all you do, every day, around all the world?

Well, I've learned programming (several other ghere have, too), and I must say that at some point there are so many modules working, bound together, that simply the overview is getting lost.

Unless everything is very strict and "clean" programmed, and you have good plans how all the modules interfere with one another (or rather should interfere), the overview is simply lost and you can't predict things, because there are simply too many of them.

Look into a hive. Can you say what each individual entity in this hive does ? And how it contributes or interferes with the whole ?

that's just like my point of view - too much to consider and reconsider, after that you just wish a slow death for yourself...;) I mean, after programming...
