Sorry; I made a mistake. It's not "explorer"; it's "scout." I still have no clue about it, though.

My character's buildup is rather awful, actually. I chose a great number of wrong feats, but in spite of that, the combat's not really that hard anyway. I am aware that soldier -> Jedi guardian would be most effective, but solder/Guardian both receive precious little skills. So I went with scroundel for more skill points (persuade is good), and then Jedi guardian for combat abilities. As a scroundel 8/Jedi guardian 9, I have something like (listing the more important ones only):

Weapon specialization: lightsaber
Master critical strike
Master toughness
Master Force jump
Improved Jedi defense
Dueling (improved? Can't remember; I know it's not master)

Force powers:

Master speed
Master valor
Force resistance
Cure
Stasis
Affect mind

Not too bad. The critical strike (plus the stun effect from a Bondar crystal on my lightsaber) downs most enemies really fast. Sneak Attack from scroundel class lets me do a lot more damage when my enemies are stunned/presenting their backs to me. (Stabbity stab stab!) The Force powers serve as good buffs; the Master Speed increases both your speed in combat and running speed. Stasis is there just in case the enemy survives both critical strike and stunning effect on lightsaber.
