If you didn't IMMEDIATELY do the quest when talking to the imp you can't speak to him afterwards, what now?

No, I'm new and just got stuck there. I have done nearly all the other quests (except the treasuremap quest). I found the treasure maps but have no idea where I have to put which gems to find the hidden treasure. So I have to get the imp, the elf and the dwarf councilmember. I have found Josephina but she's to difficult to kill.
