We celebrate on Dec 25. But the great party is on 31st. We eat lamb (sp?) and we make much of traditional sweets like a pie which is more like a cake and we put in there a coin. After the change of the year, we start to cut the cake into pieces. One for Christ. One for the poor, one for the house, and then one for the father, mother and children and guests if there is any. The one who takes the piece with the coin, is going to be lucky for the rest of the year.

Some people use to go to church but others prefer to stay home. It is after all the only days that we can gather up and be all together. The presents we open them after the change of the year. And then we play cards. Usually with little money just to see if the new year brought us luck.
