I followed the discussion a bit and now i feel that i do have to write my own opinion.
It is very easy to blame the terrorists on one hand or the USA on the other. Fact is that the USA are the only country who is willing to intervene in critical situations. The problem is that very often these interventions are not useful.
But who decides?
Saddam Hussein used poison gas on Iraqui people. China imprisons and kills people who are against the government. North Korea builds the A-Bomb. In Kongo there is civil war.
Who decides where to intervene and where not?
The USA had the september 11th and therefor it is in a way understandable that it´s government overreact.
But why there is terrorism against the western world and especially the USA?
Because the people see that they have a chance to weaken the strongest country in the world, they found out that they are able to fear a country to it´s bones with weak methods, they managed to destroy our economical system for a year or so. (just by capturing planes and killing about 4000 people.
Terror is a business of fear and everyone who is afraid supports the terror. the stronger the countermeasures are the more terrorists have the feeling of success.
The only solution to terror is to give potential terrorists a future, a work and help them to fit into the 21th century. this may sound strange but believe me this is the truth.
