Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Healing gem

I just started playing Divine Divinity. I’m in the village where the game begins and I have this problem that I have only one healing gem and two dying soldiers. Is there a way to heal both of them? I’ve found a magic mirror and I thought it could be used for duplicating the gem but it didn’t work.
Can somebody please help? I don't want any of those guys to die.

Did you find the book by the packages the mirror was on?

How goes it Dwarf,

I'm still playing the game myself for the first time, but I did start the beginning over a couple times before I got rolling. Once I thought I had the same problem with the healing gems. I dropped it in the water and only saw one, but the second one was created behind my character.

I hate that place in the game, because its pretty hard to know what to do the first time you play.

BTW does time matter in this game?
I was given this quest to escort the healers to Rivertown but I haven't started completing it (as a matter of fact, I don't know where that guy named Alix is). Currently I'm killing orcs and (literally) leaving no stone unturned. Is it possible that the 'escort' quest will expire by the time I find Alix?

What about other quests? Does time matter?

No..time does not matter. I also killed every last Orc I could find before I did that quest.

There IS a time limit on that one. 10 days (after getting the quest).

I'm sure it's a silly question but... how do I know the number of days that have passed?

Look at the day in journal when begone. Then look at last entry en count diffrence. I'm not sure how to know the exact time it is.

Sorry, Jolie, there is no time limit. The escort healer quest is busted if you get a castle invitation otherwise than from Alix after solving the Mitox quests. My assumption about 10 days was wrong. Raze already clarified this in the questbreaker thread.

If you get an invitation from Com Ralph FIRST, Knight Seth has already informed Alix, the healers moved out of Aleroth and the soldiers are dead.

How to do it: Leave Aleroth, inform Alix as said in the quest log and then you're free to roam Rivellon and accept but NOT solve any invitation quest as you wish. But as soon as one invitation is in your inventory: The soldiers die because the healers move on to the Blue Boar Inn if you haven't healed them in the meantime.
