I can only hope we'll see the actual Bugs in Div 2 again ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
(And I mean the REAL bugs - not the program code ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> ) Infinate Loop, Divide by Zero and Not Initialised are eternal. They may be vanquished, but like the great phoenix, they will forever resurect. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

I never had the chance to lie to Sir Patrick... I never saw ANY dialog about the breastplate... It was probably just a bug that had to do with other quests I had unfinished somehow... I understand the directx 9 thing.. However a year or 2 after Baldur's Gate came out, Directx 8 messed up the game.. and so they issued a patch to fix it.. Shouldn't be a hard patch to implement...

Possibly, I am just acknowledging what you already know, but - heheheh- it happens even to the most advanced players...to forget simple things...

My bad. Divide by Zero must be the offspring of Out of Range. "You killed my father, you dirty coder! Vengance will my mine!"

Well, games in the United States never spell their words with British spelling.. So while it technically may not be inaccurate, it still is out of place... And it makes the game look sloppy...

Well, here in Germany we learn rather BE instead of AE. So, if you meet an English-speaking German, it might well be that he or she is speaking BE ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />

Well, games in the United States never spell their words with British spelling.. So should there be two English versions of the game, or should the world just all switch to US English? One of the silliest things I ever saw was an Australian movie on DVD, with an English dub. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" /> EDIT: The movie was the special edition of Mad Max. On the back of the DVD; New-To-The-U.S.! Original Australian Language

So should there be two English versions of the game, or should the world just all switch to US English? I wouldn't oppose to that, personally. I'm really getting mixed up with these different spellings. I'm glad I'm not a pupil anymore, would probably get bad grades as my German/English teachers only accepted British spelling. Kiya As for games: why not British spelling if a games comes from Europe and the American spelling from American games?

Actually, I wouldn't be opposed to multiple English versions either, assuming it is not going to make the game harder to patch or take longer to produce, etc. There are a limited number of words to check for and change, after all.
"why not British spelling if a games comes from Europe..."
Isn't that what was being complained about here?
"...and the American spelling from American games?"
I'm pretty sure they already do that. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />

Isn't that what was being complained about here? Correct, it was a complaint - therefore my question/suggestion. As a gamer I may express my opinion, right? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> And I prefer British English if games come from Europe - I wouldn't oppose to American spelling if I decide to buy a game of American origin. (If I wouldn't prefer a German version in this case instead right from the start, and then have a very good "reason" to complain about the translation. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> ) Kiya <dedicated European> Or to leave my diplomatic path totally: WHY should a language variation claim superiority? Why shouldn't in this case game origin determine this variation? What's so wrong about plurality?

I still remember that Bioware/Black Isle took over a month to release the English version of Baldur's Gate/Planescape/Icewind Dale after the release of the US version, just because of the required translation as they claimed. I didn't check if it was true though and see if my version is British English then. But assuming it is true, there are some companies who do put in the effort to creat a US and British English verision.
Personally I agree that an effort should be made to translate it to US English, it goes for quality and care. On the other hand as a non-native English speaker, it doesn't influence my gaming at all, not even if the two of them were mixed in one game <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Well, I guess at Forums spelling isn't that important nowadays ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> ... just because there are so many people from any place in this world just writing English - no matter which spelling is right or wrong. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
What I don't like are crappy translations into German. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/exclamation.gif" alt="" />

Man I can only imagine what sort of movie that would have been, I mean to have an English dub?? It's just me and my stupid thoughts, but as far as I know the publisher is responsible for the translation. So only "true" spelling mistakes (too and to for instance) are the fault of Larian (if they made the game in UK English form the start), and the responsibility for the rest such as varied spelling or vocabulary belongs to the local publisher.

It's not like Mel Gibson is that hard to understand, even before becoming Americanized. If we don't need to dub Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, I think we can let almost anything pass. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I want to watch the Mad Max trilogy again...
