You diserve the angelic compliments <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I did some reading yesterday and I read about codes. It seems to me very simple. It remided me an old editor before windows show up. Wordstar2000 was a program that I used a looot in my work for writing texts. And it was in some way the same. You wanted bold letters, you should type the comand which is like html codes. I will read more today. I also made a start using some codes. But I am at the begining and I think that the hard thing will come later with inserting pictures etc. The help Larians offer in Divinity site is very usefull. There are some good tutorials.

I am starting to believe that I will actually make it to have a site dedicated to Divinity and my friends from this forum <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

sorry if i sound like an advertisement.

netscape helps a lot in the sense that once u finish with your webpage, u can publish it via a button. it's that easy. no need to log into the webserver & manually upload each file.

good for newbie. made work easier. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

Seems nice to me. How could I find netscape? Should I purchase it? Sorry if my questions are stupid but I really don´t know anything of these things.

I went on reading the tutorial. Colours section is difficult. Didn´t get it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />

Luc you should try to find a demo copy of dreamweaver MX, if you see any PC magazines with CD's attached have a look what's on them, sometimes they have the demo, if not try Dreamweaver here and click on the try link, this program lets you see what you do by copy and paste for instance and you can also do it html or css whichever you prefer, and it is well worth the learning curve, example see here by yours truly <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I agree MeaCulpa, Dreamweaver is easy to use and you can even check your page with the validation for errors, the sub menus at the top are the best.

I agree too. I always use dreamweaver to design the layout of the page. After that I switch to a plain text editor and PHP, but it's a great tool and it doesn't add all the garbage as some html editors do.

I've always been using the "HTML Editor Phase 5" for writing HTML. It's quite good, but IO don't know whether it exists in an English version, too.

If you could understand German, I'd strongly suggest "SelfHTML" THE reference in the German language. Available online and as download.

I think even without understanding German, it's quite good because of the examples.

See also these freeware HTML editors.

OpenOffice includes a wysiwyg HTML Editor which can switch to source code. I've only used it briefly, but it looks nice, assuming you'd use enough of the office suite to justify a 64MB download.

You are all so good with me helping me out. I thank you all.

Today I made a bit of searching and I found out that in Word there is a wizard for web pages. It is in file, New, Web pages. I tested some things and it worked fine. Can I use this one? I want a simple page for starters. Raze what do you think? There are not so many tools that you can use but using the Diviniti Kit I made some simple but disent pages. And I didn't have to learn all those codes.

Oh please tell me that it will work! I also found out that the provider I have for my internet connection gives me 5 MB free space for a homepage. At first I thought that it is not enough but creating some pages with the word wizard, I realized that 5 MB are good enough.

I am greatfull to all of you for the help and the support. Thank you <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Word should work fine, at least to start with. If it does everything you need, then that's all you need. If you want to do something more elaborate later, you might require a dedicated HTML editor, but by that time you would have a better idea of what to look for.

Without a lot of graphics, 5MB is plenty of space. If your ISP lets you have multiple email addresses, you may be able to get 5MB web space for each address.

Raze YOU JUST MADE MY DAY!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I thank you so much for the reply. I have made already half of my page. It is seems a bit nice too <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

But I wanted to be sure that I don't do all this work for nothing. It is so easy with that wizard. Piece of cake for me (lets hope that the page will be functional too <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />)

I am so happy!!! Tomorrow I will continue and I hope that I will come up with some ideas. The program is poor but it helps a lot beginers. For a start I think I will stick to that till I learn more.

Thnx again, Larians for baring my spaming and the nice kit for Divinity, and all the members for helping me out. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
