I need a trainer for version 1.34. I want to try out all the different Ways and Paths of skills before I start a game using a mage (wizard). Thanks in advance, as always! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

iZakaroN's SaveEditor works under v1.29 to v1.34 (at least).

I found the easiest way and most reliable method is to give yourself extra skill points, and distribute them within Divinity.

How do I get any item I want? I want to have all items so I can overview them determining which are good and bad.

For items, try DAD's item editor (or the mirror on Kiya's site, with description).

Stats are random, so I don't think you can collect all items to compare. Even unique items that are always in the game can have a wide variety of stats, so one game a particular sword may be great and the next game average.

So, a Well Made Knife can have an attack of 50? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> I don't understand. There has to be some limit...

If you use the item editor there is no limit. Concerning the usual (random) stats there won´t be knive with damage of 50.

The attack rating is determined by your own stats.

Your attack rating is determined by your agility and your (whatever weapon) expertise level.

There are also some weapons which increase your attack rating.

I need help with DDIE. I chose a Well Made Skull Cap and clicked the 'Edit' button. I clicked the 'Save and Close Form' button then closed DDIE. When I loaded Divine Divinity and my saved game I didn't have Well Made Skull Cap in my inventory. What did I do wrong?

I´m sorry, but I have no clue about the item editor. (never used)

Write a PM to DAD, he created the item editor and is of course the best person to ask.

The item editor does not create items; you need to have the item first. Check your inventory before leaving Divinity and make a note of the name of the item you want to edit (and maybe some of the stats, so you can tell the difference between similarly named items). The Well Made Skull Cap you edited could have been in a chest somewhere, etc.

For the random stats; each class of item has a certain range of stats it can have. Even potentially powerful items can end up with very crappy stats, but crappy items are not going to get a great deal better if you were to re-load repeatedly.

If you quick save before running your mouse over an item/chest/merchant or hitting the alt key, you can identify the item or trade with the merchant, then quick load to get different stats or inventory. This can be done repeatedly to get the best stats or specific bonuses on an item (save after finding good candidates) or looking for specific items (such as spell books or charms) from merchants. Don't waste too much time with this, though, it really isn't necessary to get the best possible equipment.

Say I started a new game and as soon as it started I saved the game. When you start the game does it randomly pick what items you'll find altogether (the entire game) or just that section of the game? So, if I started a game and saved it, reloaded and saved it as a different name, would they be different in the type and amount of items? When I look at DDIE does that display what items I will find somewhere? Can I use DDIE (or another program) to change that list of items to a different set of items?

The content of containers or the stats of items are set when you run your mouse over it, move it or hit the alt key nearby. If you saved in front of every chest and bookcase in Aleroth, you could re-load and get different items each time. Some containers may have specific items with random stats, some may have a low chance of containing anything, etc but for the most part items are determined as you go through an area.
The list in DDIE shows everything mentioned in the items.000 file. While items in your inventory and chests will be listed, I think it also contains various possible items which may not exist in that particular game.

Yes, that would probably be a good idea. How about changing the first paragraph on how to use DDIE from;
