Finigan's Lockpicks are the only infinate lockpicks. Others will always be used up when you attempt to pick a lock.

Well for some odd reason I was picking a lock and I got this message saying No Lock Pick's so that got my attention really quick, so I loaded a save game and there back and I try a couple of lock's and thing's are OK then I try one more lock and I only have 2 left and you only start with 3, so there slowly going away. I'm still confused!! I don't get what's happening<>

Are you sure you're using Finigan's Lockpicks? There's only one set in the entire game, not three. How did you get the lockpicks? Have you completed Finigan's quest?

Yes I did the quest and It's 1 set Of 3 Key's, not a set of 3, sorry for the misunderstanding.. It's a set of 3 keys and they weigh 9 pound's! Thanx for trying to help. It's getting really late here so I'm off to bed, see you guy tomarrow.

Bizare... So you bought (or Pick Pocketed) the keys off Finigan after completing the quest and they're disappearing anyway? This is starting to sound more like a bug. Sorry I can't help more!
Sleep well!

Get the quest from Finnegan. He is in the basement of a popular inn in Verdistis.

Before the 1.32 hotfix, using Lockpick with the magic lockpicks in your inventory would break them; in this case installing the hotfix/patch would place them back into the commander's desk to re-steal. Before the 1.34 patch and a new game, dropping them on the ground would cause them to disappear (containers were ok). If you have Finnigan's lockpicks and regular lockpicks in your inventory, the game will use the regular lockpicks first (at least in games started before installing the 1.34 patch).
They should be a single item (not stacked) with a weight of 3, and a description; [color:"orange"]Magic Lockpicks these special lockpicks belong to Finnigan[/color]

I Installed the patch before I even started playing the game. O well, guess I'm stuck buying lock picks now. I tried somehting out, they don't say Magic Lock Pick's at all, so I bought some regular ones and they just stacked up. Now I have 16 total..

Well this Is what I did. I reinstalled the patch and was able to go back and get the lock pick's again. I'm good to go now, thanx for the heads up Raze, I figured maybe reinstalling the patch might do the trick and It did. What I don't understand Is I've been running the 1.34 patch right after installing the game and I didn't even choose a character yet.

So for some reason, the lockpicks that you steal for Finigan are regular lockpicks. He can still tell them apart from the rest (like the Easter Egg teleporter can identify the ropes you have), but they are actually normal lockpicks.
Okay, my brain's getting off at the next stop. This is too strange.
Lots of luck!

Maybe you just thought you had stole them in the first place? Maybe the patch did not install properly the first time around (ie from a Windows XP account without administrative privileges), so they were still breakable?

When you complete Finnigan's quest he gives you some lockpicks. After you've completed the quest then try trading with him and you should see the magical lockpicks in his inventory, just buy them and sell all the others.
