This is what we call the resistances bug. It usually happens when you unequip an item that had a magic barrier bonus.
There are a few options.
1. instal the patch as in the post above.
2. If you have a free skill point, put one in magic barrier.
But with the latest patch it should be fixed. Good luck in your travels.
