That's good to know. I don't recall anyone else having this problem, but then that would require finding good equipment with a specific skill bonus (I may have found equipment with a Magic Barrier bonus, but not any that I used). The bug fixed by the patch was when removing something with a Magic Barrier bonus without having otherwise learnt the skill.
