and not all of our spamming here... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

Bernhard
It is not spamming !
It is a serious discussion about life during the Middle Age in Europe.
It is the base of most heroic fantasy RPG.
Of course it is not as sweet as the life of Sissi in Austria !

Hi Barta!

You completely misunderstood me, I just made a joke about spamming. We have a thread about it in German forum as well at the moment, so this came to my mind.

Please don´t take me that serious <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/exclamation.gif" alt="" />

Anf for Sissi: Did you know that she was assasinated? Did you know that during her life she was fighting against dperession most of the time, at least after her son commited suicide?

Don´t believe her life was so sweet...

Read "Magic Kingdom for sale/sold" by Terry Brooks <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

While I prefer fantasy over sci fi when I read, Id rather live in a hi tech future rather than a low tech past <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I can't read the german forum because i don't understand the german language !
I would like to understand it because this forum seems to be very busy.

[color:"yellow"] Please don´t take me that serious <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/exclamation.gif" alt="" />[/color]
Don't think i am serious too. Except when i answer to the questions in the help section, i am always joking.

I know a little bit of the real story of Sissi.
I was joking because most of the people in France just know the movies with Romy Schneider which are completely pink and blue.

Was it his husband François-Joseph who was assassinated in Sarajevo on the 23rd of july 1914, and which was the beginning of the 1st mondial war ?

That was a good book, but I think being king would involve far too much politics, not to mention paperwork... another couple conditions;

[*]No arch enemies or factions who want you dead before you even get to the world
[*]No power over, or ongoing responsibility for, anyone besides fiends, family and maybe a couple apprentices. Quests to kill evil monsters, etc are fine, but I would want to spend the majority of my time free to do arcane research or whatever else I felt like.

@ Barta: So I took you too serious as well... [Linked Image]

The person who was assasinated in Serbia was Sissis other son Franz Ferdinand (Francois-Ferdinande). The one who commited suicide was Rudolf.

(hope I don not mix up facts now...)

I LOVED THAT BOOK!!!!

I read it in grade 9 LA, and i was growning becasue i did not want to read "fantasy!!!!: <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Now look where i am!

And, the essay i wrote on it, i think i got 98% on it or something. It was a good topic...about all the conficts used in the book (man vs. himself - which Ben had a ton of, man vs man...or the creatures i think i used...and man vs nature.

BTW Lews - i went to Hasting (in England) BUT did you know that where the battle (of Hastings) was really fought was in a place the English now call Batlle????? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Mondial war??? I have never heard the world war called that.

And, yes Bernard, you are right.
Arch duke Ferdinan wasn't it?

I would live in a castle in Scotland and have a mate who would wear tartan kilt (or cilt?). Preeety nice.....

BTW I didn´t know that Sisi was killed. So sad! I think she was a kind heart queen. I also have sympathy about Marie Antoinete. You have very interesting history in Austria and France. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

My knowledge about the History of Austria is very poor. I mixed up the names and the dates.

@ Carrie
I have made a big mistake, i used a french word "mondial" instead of world.

Every country has an interesting story, but a lot of people (as me) just know the History of their own country.
I don't know the modern History of Greece but i used to like the greek mythology.
About Marie-Antoinette, she was from Austria, the french people did not like her and she had her head cut.
If one day you would come in Paris, you could visit "le Château de Versailles" where she used to live and "La conciergerie" where it is possible to visit her jail.

About Kiya : She had written in her "New years resolution" : Go to bed at reasonable times. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> Remember ? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

By the way, I've heard of a - maybe spanish - project where people are actually building a castle in their vacation times. Unfortunately I don't remember much more about it ...

About Marie-Antonette : Tragical person. Not understood, not understanding the Revolution, I think.
