His music was based on mathematical principles. He also used old Greek texts.
Life:
His parents were Greek. Studied civil engeneering in Athens, Greece. Leader in the Greek resistance in World War II. Lost one eye. Sentenced to death, but fled. Ended up in Paris, where he became assistant to architect Le Corbusier. Involved in the Philips pavilion on the Brussels World Fair in 1958, where stereophonic electronic music by Var�se was played. Became French in 1965. His musical development was shaped by contacts with Messiaen and Var�se.
