Got MVG in Eglish in högstadiet, and MVG in English A and B <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />.

And spelling is simply spelling, meaning how you spell. I bike go town is correct if you check spelling, but really poor if you check writing. Grammar is a big part of writing, usage is another.

Bok.

Don't worry, if you stick around here you'll learn <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />.

And stop being <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/offtopic.gif" alt="" />, this is the A to Z one word thread, topic trees. Follow the alphabet (ignore å, ä and ö) and write trees. Nice way to get postaccounts without spamming <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />.

Dragon Tree

is found on the Canary Islands, Cape Verde Islands, Madeira and Morocco. The Guanche people of the Canary Islands used the sap for mummification purposes. In Ancient Rome, Sangre de Drago (Dragon Tree) was used as a colorant and across Europe it has been used as a varnish for iron tools.

Thanks Gal! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I like it, but the worst is that I don't have the green thumb at all... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum)

Interesting facts:
Giant Sequoias grow to an average height of 70-85 m (230-280 ft) and 5-7 m (16-23 ft) in diameter. Record trees have been reported to be 93.6 m (307 ft) in height and 8.85 m (29 ft) in diameter. The oldest known Giant Sequoia based on ring count is 3,200 years old. Sequoia bark is fibrous, furrowed, and may be 60 cm (2 ft) thick at the base of the columnar trunk; it provides significant fire protection for the trees. The seed cones are 4-7 cm long and mature in 18-20 months, though they typically remain green and closed for up to 20 years; some seed is shed when the cone scales shrink during hot weather in late summer but most seeds are liberated when the cone dries out from fire heat and/or insect damage.

The leaves suppoosed to be good for your memory <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Indian almond (Terminalia catappa) also known as Umbrella tree.

Terminalia cattapa has an upright, symmetrical silhouette and grows to 90 feet in height, with horizontal branches some 35 feet in width. As the tree gets older, its crown becomes more flattened to form a spreading, vase shape. The leaves are large (to 12 in long by 6 in wide), ovoid, dark green, glossy, and leathery.

@ Singo
Sweet Singo, did you ever heard of trees?? Oaks, birches, appletrees?? Well, if you did, the subject is about trees. No James Bond thingies, just plain trees. Will that work for you?
And by the way, I'm not mad, just a little impatient... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

I found no tree with the letter "K", so I picked one out in Dutch.
Knotwilg ( this tree grows mainly at the borders of rivers or creeks, they are one of the easiest trees to grow, you just stick a branch in the ground and it will grow a tree in no time, some farmers use it to create a natural shadowplace for caddle) Can anyone look the English word for that tree please?

Funny saying:
Zoon: "Mijn pa is een boom van een vent"
Schoondochter: "Een knotwilg is ook een boom!" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

Son: "My father was tall as a tree."
Daughter-in-law: "A 'knotwilg' is also a tree!" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

Larch
Larches are coniferous trees native to much of the cooler temperate northern hemisphere, on lowlands in the far north, and high on mountains further south. They are among the dominant plants in the immense boreal forests of Russia and Canada.

Mimosa
This fast-growing, deciduous tree has a low branching, open, spreading habit and delicate, lacy, almost fern-like foliage. Fragrant, silky, white puffy pompom blooms, two inches in diameter, appear in abundance from late April to early July creating a spectacular sight. But the tree produces numerous seed pods and harbors insect (webworm) and disease (vascular wilt) problems. Although rather short-lived (10 to 20 years), Mimosa is popular for use as a terrace or patio tree for its light, dappled shade and tropical effect. Its deciduous nature allows the warming sun to penetrate during the winter. There are too many other high-quality trees in this cruel world to warrant planting this tree.

Mimosa

There are Mimosa species that have a special characteristic; when they're touched, they fold their leaves, then re-open it a few minutes after. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> The Sensitive plant.

Northern Whitecedar (Thuja occidentalis)
An evergreen coniferous tree in the cypress family (even not a cedar <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />), native to the northeastern US and southeastern Canada.
