[color:"yellow"] Quicksilver, or to give it its more familiar name, Mercury, was one of the most important metals that kick-started the study of meteorology over 350 years ago.

[color:"yellow"] Sea Breezes..... In still anticyclonic weather, during the long hazy days of summer, you will often hear the weather broadcaster say that it will be hot inland but cooler near the coasts with sea breezes during the afternoon.

Aha! Now you want to trick me into saying thunder the way you tried to trick me into saying hurricane. I won't do it. Never mind that we had a thunderstorm here 2 days ago. Never mind that a thunderstorm once fried my graphics card. Nevermind that a thunderstorm once fried the control board of my garage dooor opener. I won't say thunderstorm.

Q: Why do Essex girls keep smiling during a thunderstorm?
A: They think they're being photographed!

One summer evening during a violent thunderstorm a mother was tucking her small boy into bed. She was about to turn off the light when he asked with a tremor in his voice,
"Mommy, will you sleep with me tonight?"
The mother smiled and gave him a reassuring hug.
"I can't dear," she said. "I have to sleep in Daddy's room."
A long silence was broken at last by his shaking little voice:
"The big sissy."

X-RAYS
The portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that has a very short wave length. It has a wave length longer than gamma rays, yet shorter than visible light. X-rays can penetrate various thicknesses of all solids, and when absorbed by a gas, can result in ionization. (I'm not the geek here )
