A shadow sweeper!! YEAH.!! I always call me A SHADOW SWEEPER,wherever in BG or NWN or TOEE or here in Divine Divinity. What i high on in these games is to get rid all the shadow on the map.I will not leave behind even a very little brick of shadow. Think maybe it's a strange practice. How about you guys? Anyone perform the same as me? P.S I have no such ailment to force me to do sth. special (like wash hands GZZzzz) in normal life.
don't shoot lieutenant !! IT'S ME

I tried to clear as much as possible, but didn't go to any special effort to do so. To clear the most fog-of-war, try a combination of; - Max Elven Sight (much more effective) and Ranger Sight (if you have the skill points to spare and really want to maximize your sight range).
- Keep any equipment you find with sight bonuses, to use when exploring.
- Toss a teleporter stone onto/into inaccessible regions and move around by repeatedly tossing one stone and teleporting to it (you are not suppose to be up on most mountains, across the river in the south east corner of the dark forest, etc, and will not be able to walk there).
- Cast Wizard's Sight twice in the same location (cast it a second time before the fog-of-war fills in again from the first, and it will remain clear). Hold the shift key down to move the screen focus away from your character and towards the area you want to clear.

Well, in this game you could miss something significant the 1st time you play unless you look at every nook and cranny.

I'm the same, tucking myself into every corner to get that extra foot of sight. What a bunch of geeky perfectionists we are!

I personally prefer the "explorer" style of gameplay : I usually explore the whole area, looking for things to find out.
So, "shadow sweeping" isn't new to me.

Nothing unusual about trying to explore the whole map. I am afraid to miss something good. Its just like barrels in Diablo 2 I kick every one of them...

Very true. You get used to it, though. It started on the topic of Divine Divinity...

The fog is actually your friend in DD because without it you don't know where you haven't been.

no there is a hack in diablo 2 that lets you see everything but it also shows where the bad guys are.
