Found my first dungeon, outside the graveyard walls.....Jesus what a trial!!! This game is rather too hard in my humble opinion.

Things have progressed nicely now. I am currently at Lower Marten's Bluff talking to Z'ant who has just asked me to go and kill some Rapax chap. This game gets better the longer it goes on, was a bit of a chore earlier on in the game, but like they say, "patience is a virtue".

Hey, spick. First off let me say congrats on picking up Wizardry 8 for such a cheap price! I hope you enjoy it half as much as I do. Now if you don't mind I'm going to give you a bit of advice. At the start of the game don't level too much. It will make your life a LOT easier once you get out of the Monastery on your way to Arnika. Arnika Road is probably the hardest part of the game, and the whole reason why is monsters level with you and at that point of the game you're party will be under equiped to handle the stuff that spawns there. I tend to stop leveling at level 5 inside the Monastery, but I still train my skills. Skills are way more important then levels in this game. Save your spell picks for your casters. Buy a few spells at the eariler levels so your casters can get by, after that just save them. Once you get to a town you'll be able to buy spells books, so save your spell picks for higher level spells. Grr... well that's all I'm able to post at the moment. If you have any questions about the game feel free to ask me. I'm a self proclamed expert on this game - I refuse to play the game on anything less then expert and ironman now a-days. :P I've finished the game twice with a full 6 man party, once with a solo Elf Bishop, another time with a solo Faerie Ninja, and my current game I used www.random.org to generate my party - I got 2 party members (and that's not counting all the games I've started but lost my party while playing Ironman. ). A Hobbit Rouge (yay!) and a Mook Bishop (died on the way to Arnika, but I was able to get my rouge's steath to 100 inside the Monastery so it's not that big of a lose. hehe...I'm not even sure if I'll bring my Bishop back to life).

Thanks for the advice yaaj , but i am quite a way on from that now, i am exploring Marten's Bluff, i have a Robot of some kind in my party now and my Bard has some stunning musical weapons, and my Bishop has learned to turn undead which is coming in handy in Martens Bluff. My party is currently 7, i hate it when a character buggers off and leaves when i have built them up so. Tonite i managed to squish some Rapax chap, that was fun, then i took his head to Z'ant for a shiteload of XP.

[color:"yellow"] Finito [/color] Yes at last i have passed the finishing post and what a dramatic ending. I chose the middle option right at the end ,Killed old Savant and his Henchman, lost only one of my Characters and then was told i had one of the good endings, overall after a slow start i found the game fascinating. So it's on to ARCANUM now.

Thank you for a nice thread to read! I play W8 myself at the time and.. I have enought patience to enjoy battles. Sometimes it's really hard (20 rats in the very beginning... oooh!) I should have known I did't have to level, just an old habit to push every button I encounter.
Have you heard that W10 is going to be online game? (of course if Sirtech overcomes its problems)
Gadjeter is bloody nice! I always select 'angry', 'lonely' and other strange voices, so my priest really irritates me sometimes (but how to live without a priest, heh?)
May the force be with you /and me, all those entering exams tire out

I just wanted to let you all know that it is your fault I just bought this game.
Installed it yesterday and created my party (that's what I love best in an RPG):
- Tjure, aggressive Dwarf Fighter - Sveltje , lone Human Ranger - Finbar, laidback Hobbit Rogue - Myrdane, intellectual Elf Mage - Lou, friendly Rawulf Lord - Kayani, eccentric Human Valkyrie
Do you think they can handle it? (That is - if I can )
I have already killed some crabs, but don't ask me how - I have no idea. Guess I will have to do some reading before I really start.
Der Mensch ist das edelste Lebewesen. - Das erweist sich schon daraus, dass ihm noch kein anderes widersprochen hat.
