Yes, please, do some reading before you start. It helps a lot !

Also, the group looks fairly good to me.

I have just entered the first dungeon and already killed tons of rats and bats and bugs. I think I will like the game.

I absolutely love the character sheets!

The handling is not so good though. I like to play with only the keyboard. But I still seem to need the mouse to pick things up.

I am beginning to get used to the handling and to find out how to fight and so on. This feels very good and may be addictive. I already love my party (especially the Rawulf Lord and the Hobbit Rogue) and waste a lot of time juggling the inventaries

If only I could find a way out of this .... dungeon. I fell down a hole and can't seem to find my way up again. Is this thing huge or what?

And is it just my impression or do monsters respawn mighty quickly?

Do you have any hints how to get out of this monastery-dungeon?

You have to find the correct portal to escape......I might have a map if you are really stuck or you can find maps on the net.
Don't forget to save regularly!

I am in Arnika now, have recruited Myles and Vi. I think I have seen all of the town. What's strange is that you don't really get tasks to do. I have some very vague tipps and hints but that's all.

Should I wander around a bit? Normally I would do just that - go (treasure) hunting. But in this game I feel that with every step I take a monster is created nearby. To be honest, this is starting to get on my nerves a bit.

And what about those gadget things. I don't have a gadgeteer and am not very interested in this. Can I sell them? Is there a way to recognize whether they play a role in the game or not?

I like the game but at the moment I feel a bit "left alone", if you know what I mean.

Shame you did not start with a Gadgeteer they are really useful and you can make some awsome weapons for them, also do you have a Bard, they can get hold of some excellent musical weapons.
If you feel you are "lost" i am sure you find something useful here Wizardry8 or don't be ashamed and take a quick peak at a walkthrough, it's better than packing in a game just because you get stuck in my opinion.Just use one as a "Referance" so to speak.

I guess I have a problem...

When I come back to Marten's Bluff to bring Z'Ant the Dominus Thing (I keep forgetting names in this game) the T'Rang have turned hostile.

I paid the barkeeper in Arnika, so that is not the reason why.

But... Well, I killed some T'Rang. Long time ago. It was an accident. They stood in my way... After that the others were suspicious (yellow), but I could live with that. Why are they hostile now? Has someone escaped and talked?

If I fight them now, what happens to the story?

Another question: In the graveyard there are some tombs with blue signs. I touched them - the hand symbol disappeared, but nothing else happened (as far as I can see). So I just left there. Did I trigger something bad?

Oh! Perhaps these were the tombs of T'Rang and I disturbed their ghosts? And now they hate me...

There are 6 if i recall correctly, after touching all six go to the south eatern corner of the graveyard, then hold a DAGGER and click it anywhere at the corner,It will stab itself into the stone, and a dungeon will pop up outside, again at the Southeastern corner, i think it appears as some mushrooms on the floor ??

Six? I think I found three...

Maybe I'm just too stupid for this game

Maybe I don't find these things because I always run as fast as I can because of all those monsters...

But will I have to start all over or is it okay to kill all the T'Rang?

Anyone who enjoys a good RPG has to give it a chance

Form the RPGdot review. And it certanly seems that whay.
Without knowing too much of the game (only what I've read) it seems like a better (and mor humouros) verision of Icewind Dale II, due to the fact that you'll have a whole party at once. But it seems that it handles the unpersonal bit better that ID II did, and it acually seems like the partysystem works (ie you will end up with 6 pepole with personality, unlike ID 2 where you'll end up with 6 pepole without personality). Anywhay, I think I'll try it (maybe after ).

If you can get a hold of the German magazine PC Action , 11/2004, then you can get Wizardry 8 with it for less than 5 Euros, I think.

The only drawback is the [censored] quality of the magazine itself, because it's so low that it's a real shame for Germany. You can ask the other Germany here in this Forum, they would agree.

For the game, it's good.

By the way, the 11/2004 has come out just a few days ago, and it has the label "October" on it - German magazines have developed a weird kind of cycling ...

I don't think I can get my hands on any German magazine acually... And (my faithfull old superstore for PC-games) Tradition don't seem to have it . I only have two alternatives left. The first (and best) is the other store (well there ARE more, but there is only two with any biggre sortiment, and if I should find Wizardy, I think that they are the only two with any prospects of having it)in town, TV-spelsbörsen (where they sell (and buy) used copys of older games. You can find basicly anything there. I bought Planescape: Torment there for example). The other is downloading... Unless you have any better alternatives, that is.
