I got into the council of seven chambers ok and can save there but as soon as i get near the succubus (after my initial conv with her) my game CTD! I can run away from her and it doesnt crash but if she gets near then off it goes with both my saves in there!!!
I put on 1.34 patch and it didnt fix it at all - no previous patches installed. i cleared files in my Dynamic folder and turned desktop down to 16 bit and still nothing btw my save games are both 1.29 could this be the prob?
Any ideas anyone coz I am doing so well and really don't want to have to go back to another save game

did you install the patch after this game was started?

the patch will only take effect on games started after it has been installed. if you had already started the game, then installed the patch, that could be the problem.

p.s. i could be reading the post wrong due to mass amounts of alcohal in my bloodstream. if so then please disregard.

Did you install the patch with XP or win2000? Maybe you've installed it from an account without admin rights.

The patch can be installed after starting the game (that's what I did). Some of the story fixes only work in new games, but the extra quicksave and most of the technical fixes work fine with existing saves.

Try running the configuration program and switching to software mode, and maybe reduce the resolution (until you get past that point). I am pretty sure that has helped with others having a similar problem.

Yeah *SOB* I patched after I started this game and really don't want to have to do it all again

I tried running the config and going down to 640x480 and 800x600 in software mode but it still crashes as soon as the bugger gets near me (with all background progs off). I even tried loading a game from before I found Zandalor and going all thru that and saving it before going to the chambers etc - but it still does it

Im running WinME so I dont have admin problems, but since I installed the patch the game has also started occassionally to crash before loading with the message "Div has caused an error in Kernel32.DLL" WTF?!!

I have played the game before ages ago with no problems (but can't remember my OS) Guess my comp really does just hate me *Sigh*

Can you run away, and use a hit-and-run tactic with a bow to kill her from a distance? How about a steady stream of Meteorstrike, or Freeze then a ranged attack?

Maybe there is a glitch with her attack animation or sound effect? It might help to do a clean install of the game. See;
Troubleshooting Tips (& manual install procedure)

hmm that would explain my chars resistances/Magic Barrier problem and not getting my res back after installing patch half way. It seems it does not recalculate your res from items and skills, just takes whatever value is in the save file/'snapshot'?

The patch should have reset the resistances and restored them to normal.
