I never could get drunk with beer. It is too light for me.

That's because you've drunk so much alcohol you've created a resistance. You'll have to drink more and more in order to get drunk, and one day you'll drink too much, and then you're screwed. But if you quit in time (and I know you can do that) you can still be saved <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />.

If Luc says she never gets drunk (on purpose), and controls her alcohol I'd believe it. You see more sober than drunk poeple when you go out, so it just normal may poeple are just like Luc.

I do get drunk but never drunk enough that it would harm myself or someone-else <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

So do I, that's why I think it's so fun to point out that she is an alcoholic <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />. And if you don't get drunk from beer, you either don't drink enought of it, or you don't drink enought of it.

I never drink enough to get drunk anymore, not these days anyway...so Luc is not the only one...and I'm Irish!!

It's mostly the younger crowd you see drinking to excess in pubs and clubs - or the old geezers in the dirty pub that smells of pee...alcohol can be enjoyed without getting off yer face mouldy drunk!

Oh you should come to Greece once and see all the 17-20 year old people from all over the world drinking till they drop unconscious! You see in Greece you don't need to be 21 to drink. You can start drinking whenever you want. So drinking is the main reason I think that all the people prefer Greece for spending their holidays... There is nothing less appealing than a nice English man drunk. Irish are funny though when they are drunk. And they do not get drunk very easily.
One thing is sure. When they drink ouzo they all get crazy.

Anyway I am always stating in here that drinking is no good. And beer is the lightest drink I have ever tasted. It is funny to get drunk sometimes when
a. you do not drive
b. you are among friends that you know that they will take care of you
c. have a good reason.

Quit saying that Luck is an alcoholic, you don't know her and it's not because you don't drink, that every one else who does drink is an alcoholic. If I were you, I would apologize to Luc, she is one of the dearest people here on this forum. Ub did not judge luc like an alcoholic person.
It is one of his stupid jokes like the one about me being a transvestite.
He repeats it again and again without understanding that he is not funny at all.
Please Ubereil take some humour lessons and come back when you will be graduated.
And please don't say again that i do not love you, this is also too heavy.

that is the extreme of bad jokes, Barta. i agree, Ube, u need to learn the boundaries of jokes first before learning the funny parts. why do i sound like i know so much? because i am like u as well; i tell bad jokes but at least i think i know when to stop when it's not funny.

As far as Ube is concerned I am not mad with him at all. I got used to his sense of humour which it not always my fav. but I guess his is still so young that he does not understand some things.

Being raised with an alcoholic dad for 25 years, having in front of my face every day the bad effects of alcohol in people's lives I swore to my self from a very small age that my relationship with alcohol would be like "stay away from me!" And I intend to keep it that way. I was just curious about beer and I had the best time tasting some brands with my friends. But as Gal pointed out Ube does not know me. The same goes for many people in here.

In my case, it was no alcoholic, but rather alcohol in general.

There is a story of me as a *very* young boy only very few people know :

At the time of my very young age (under 10 years quite surely), there was a song popular that went like this : "The devil made alcohol to seduce you" (rough translation.) (For any German reader : It was "Der Teufel hat den Alkohol gemacht, um uns zu versuchen", and the song was by Udo Jürgens. I vaguely still remember it, but it is still sometimes told within our family : It was once that we went to church. People were singing, and within the church I didn't know what to sing. It was for the christian God and for Jesus and against the devil.
So, having made up my mind, I began singing this song in the church : "The devil made the alcohol to seduce us ..."
