Oh dear....you never took ANY other NPC's? You really need to play enough times to take them all at some point. They are all pretty good plotwise and their background stories and relationships with each other and the PC make it all worth replaying again (Especially when replaying as a different class and alignment) . Jan's funny stories. Edwins arrogance. Anomens pretentiousness that he uses to disguise his latent homosexuality! Mwahaha! Ahem! Its all bloody funny!
