I first played as a monk, then as a kensai/mage and then as a thief.
I always took:
Minsc
Jaheira
Aerie
Imoen/Yoshimo/ and then Imoen again
Anomen

Awww... poor Aerie!

Heck that was easy, considering I was a Ranger and or Paladin most of the time, I used to shoot him till he cam down then wait for those two really nice guards to finish him off <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> oh and not to forget that wonderfull ring hiddin in that tree, below the Friendly Arms Inn <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

Drop Aerie. She's whiny and annoying and you'd be much better off with different cleric and backup mage. I'd recommend getting Edwin and VIconia, unless you have a thing about not having evil people in your party.

Bad idea replacing Yoshi right now. Just trust me on this one.

Oh dear....you never took ANY other NPC's? You really need to play enough times to take them all at some point. They are all pretty good plotwise and their background stories and relationships with each other and the PC make it all worth replaying again (Especially when replaying as a different class and alignment) . Jan's funny stories. Edwins arrogance. Anomens pretentiousness that he uses to disguise his latent homosexuality! Mwahaha! Ahem! Its all bloody funny!

Poor Aerie indeed. I like her character and she is 'whiny' for a reason! How would like YOUR wings cut off??(alright, I know you dont have wings*, but use your imagination) She is niave because she has been sheltered since her capture. Considering what she has been through I think she is kind of brave. Anyways, if you want whiny, try Carth in Knights of the Old Republic. The point is the fact that we can even speak about NPC's in a computer game with any passion whatsoever, be it good or ill, means that Bioware are bang on the money for drawing us into their worlds. Game set and match Bioware.

this usually my team

me (paladin undead hunter)
aerie (like combo cleric/mage)
minsc (just love him as fighter and talk with Boo)
Jan (love funny dialoges and is best thief after Yoshimo(<--hate him))
Jaheira (good druid/healer)
Viconia (give her a mace that increases her str and she cicks [nocando], although it sometime hard to keep her in a good party (specially with jaheira and aerie together))


Tried other combos too, but i like this the best.

I always just took the NOC's, do their personal quests and then just dump them again. BTW, my lady characters weren't that man-ly so Anomen's homosexuality might be far-fetched.

Well that is why I keep her in my team. Aerie that is. Because even if she talks too much she is good hearted. And I have replaced Yos with Anomen (Sorry mickey but I did not like him). Nor that Anomen is better.... I hate him when he is telling me for his father. He is trying to flirt Lucretia and he is always talking about himself. Pf... oh btw I have a question : Whenever I rest I see some dreams where Irenicus hurt Imoen. Does that mean that I have time limitation and that perhaps I am late and by the time I get to her she will be dead? Usually, I wouldn't recommend dropping one class for another, especially since that means you don't haeva thief anymore. You should try picking up Nalia.



No, there is no time limit. The dreams are just to move the plot along, and give you more insight into why he captured you.

Yeah I have noticed that he is flirting. But he is a jerk. I laugh so much with him. Boy who wrote the dialogues in this game anyway? And did he/she actually believed that Anomen is impressive?

Anomen was meant to be arrogant and annoying.
The guy who wrote the dialogs for the game wrote them for Irenicus and Yoshimo, remember <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />.
What's great about BG2 is that you can often shape your NPCs: they can become good and evil... You can dualclass Yoshimo into a fighter: he'll kick [nocando] but in my party he's the only one who can set traps.
