The kits? Or what classes do you mean? And if you can't use bow as a thief/mage (I dualled Imoen, she couldn't use a bow after she'd dualed), why should you be able to use a hammer as a kensai/mage? Please, don't you have any old savegames you can try it out in?
And when CAN you multiclass? You have to do it by a level up or what? I tried to create a new character in ToB just to try dualclassing, but I couldn't dual class my kensai! When CAN you dualclass him? Allso, my brother mentioned that once you've dualclassed your first class stops to advance, and you can never become a higher level in it. Is this true? From what I remember (from reading the manual for BG1 a LONG time ago) your second class will soak all experience untill it's at the same level as your first class, then you will advace like a normal multi-class character.
