I have played NWN, but never finished it. I read a post somewhere that people who only played the official campaign had a mediocre opinion of the game; to truly enjoy the game one should play a good online MP module. OK. What MP modules are the best? In your recommendations please in mind that I do not own any of the 2 expansions, and don't plan to buy them unless of course I get hooked on the module thing. Also if you have a recommendation please specify exactly where I can get access to it. I've never played online before so any special tips are always helpful.

Dear Claglaw, if you want to enjoy online gaming, put your hands on good MMORPG. You will have dozen of virtual friends and you will have loads of fun and busy time. All those single player with mp support are nothing compared to one good MMORPG.

Egin,
MMORPGs have monthly costs. You can spend several hundreds per year. Plus you have to be online to play. I don't play MMO games because of those two facts.
I realise the developpers are constantly working to improve the gameworld but that's too "life like", in my opinion. A game stops being a game once it reaches a certain degree. I find MMOs more than games. Like worlds to replace the real one.
What do you think? Do I have valid points?

NWN, on the other hand, have many great modules and can be played online like a pen and paper game.

By the way, Cleglaw: I heard the Hordes of Underdark expention is very good. If you would like to read some reviews, you could go to www.gamerankings.com, although I find the Gamebanshee.com 's review one of the best.

MMORPG has it's world, to be more exact, there is community. You will never learn what is MMORPG without playing it, it is unique. Have you ever called your friends to go hunt pygmies? I think not. I have This is exciting. I love these games but there is one minus - I have to spend time with my family (MMORPG ruines this)
DATD you are right this is more than game. Community, where people gather, discuss things, make plans for hunts, raids, holidays, vacations. If you are active, you will participate in guild and alliance events, there is agenda of theese on web. This will be your secondary life or primary, as you choose it to be.

Cleglaw, I'd suggest going to the Neverwinter Nights site and trying the most popular downloads. They can't all be bad...

We had a small discussion about that in the GErman area - with recommendations.

By Buad : NWN Module

With link to recommendations - some by Bronthion.

I don't know about the modules themselves (especially language), because I don't have NWN. So you'll have to figure it out yourself, sorry.

Do you intend to try World of Warcraft? I would've but I don't have the time and resources for it, although the game looks interesting. The setting (warcraft) alone is good.

Cleglaw: there was some funny erotic module for NWN...

These are singleplayer modules, but they are very much worthwhile:

Elegia Eternum - voiceacting, original music, excellent story. Not much roleplaying, but it's an excellent interactive novel-esque module.

Excrucio Eternum - sequel to the above module. No voiceacting, but still has original music. Plenty of roleplaying options and the story is as good as EE1, if not better.

Bone Kenning I: The Art of the Thanaturge - uber-good. Creative scripting, good story, good roleplaying choices. Mostly geared toward neutral or evil.

Check NWVault's Hall of Fame. There's a lot of good stuff there, and I have only played a few of them.
