Trying to make a paladin/druid work with flame blade and I noticed the following inconsistencies:
I am thoroughly confused by how this ability is exactly coded.
Is it a weapon attack or a melee spell attack?

- weapon swing doesn't trigger ring of elemental infusion
- ring of elemental infusion doesn't add damage on weapon swing
- Minthara soul branding is permanent and doesn't get consumed
- When casting a smite spell like thunderous smite: ring of power infusion triggers fire infusion instead of thunder infusion (probably because fire is the first damage types that gets triggered)
- No attack roll modifiers like (duelling gloves even though the UI indicates it as a positive when attacking) get added
- sacred weapon doesnt work (no charisma modifier gets added)
- strange conduits ring does work (specified as weapon attack)
- hunters mark doesn't work
- magic weapon doesn't work
- enlarged does work and does +1d4 fire damage
- caustic band works (weapon attacks)
- cruscation ring doesnt work (spell damage)
- broodmothers revenge does work (poison weapon coating)
- other poison cant coat flame blade
- I can coat arsonist oil /wizards bane but it has no effect

Let me know if any other interactions need to be reviewed.
Flame blade doesn't seem very consistent at the moment.

On a side note, wizards cant learn flame blade from a scroll which is kind of shame. But maybe that's intentional?

The spell summons a weapon, which then is used to perform weapon attacks.

As far as I'm aware it does. It adds 1d6 Fire damage to its attacks. Kind of odd how it works, but the extra damage is there.

No, as it's not part of their spell list. Just like Wizards can't learn Cure Wounds or Revivify from scrolls. Wizards can only learn Wizard spells from scrolls.

Tried hunter's mark (from the grymskull helmet) today and it didn't add any damage.

Why do so many weapon interaction fail? And why do items like pyroquickness hat (which specify spells in their descriptions) work with flameblade?

The spell feels very inconsistent, which makes it hard to use / create a build for it.

Just noticed that the following do not work either:

- paladin reaction divine smite
- paladin reaction divine smite crit

Thank you for reporting this! I've forwarded your list to the team so they can have a look at the interactions that are not working.
