Where can I find good rings? The only one that I found with charm-levels was the Sapphire ring Verlat gives me for saving his life.

I found several decent amulets with two or three charm-slots (even with choosing the sword from the holy weapons quest) - but practically no rings. (I think it was the other way round with my first game...)

Also, where would you look for golden charms before the Wastelands? I had one drop somewhere and bought one from Elean. - And then in the Wastelands I bought nearly all that Kroxy would sell me (as those stupid imps didn't feel like dropping golden charms either... - Funny enough: my first game through those imps dropped more than I could use - and I cursed myself for using silver charms in some of my dragon-set) It was only when I neared Josie (last member of the ring for me) that I finally managed to fill all my charm-slots.

And one more question: what is the best one-handed weapon (as I happen to like the dragon-shield)?
Also, when saving/restoring till I get the "perfect" stats for my weapon of choice: is it better to have higher dam, the most charm-slots or the most "secondary" dam (like poison, fire, spiritual, etc. - enhanced)? - And btw, if my sword is fire-enhanced and I myself have maxed the skill of adding fire-dam, which one counts then? Or do they both happen?

I know that the charms are dropped randomly so you'll just have to get luck.
I know also a good ring and you can find him in the house with the portable bed. This house is close to the cursed abbey. Look for a key outside the house then look under the bed for a hatch, use the key and voila you have found a ring.
Also save before you open the hatch because if you get a ring that sucks, you can load the game and open the hatch again and see if you have a better ring then because items are randomly generated.

Gold charms can be dropped randomly by lizards in the Dark Forest. You can get one by killing the talking tree. I lucked out my first game; the dragon rider Zandalor kills when you leave Aleroth dropped a gold strength charm.

Potentially the best one handed sword is the Sword of the Gods, found in the wastelands. Mine was a bit better than my Nobleman's Sword. I always went for high damage first, then bonuses (which varied depending on the part of the game) and ignored the charm quality (only used 1 charm, then decided to stop so the game wouldn't get too easy).

Passive damage skills and skills on weapons are treated separately, so they can both be applied the same hit.
