Exactly mate, I've died loads of times, and I know just the cave your talking about. I went in at level 15 and nearly died, until I discovored that in the cave there is one particualrly strong spider which lets all the other wimpy ones attack, and just hides behind them whilst pelting you with poison. I just charged through all the other spiders and killed the mighty one, but by this time I was almost dead. However once you've killed the big one the rest can't really hurt you. I just save before I go in, and if it's too hard, mark it on my map e.g "tough place with spiders" and then come back to it when i've leveled up a bit.
