Hi all! I was just at Gamespy to download the demo of Painkiller, and guess what? Okay, I'll tell ya. I got a popup for their survey. On this survey they ask what games you are looking forward to, and what games you are going to buy.
was number 2 on that list! Muahahahaha! Guess where I clicked!

I agree whole heartedly, Merendrious, and Dragonkeeper. What shocked me so much was actually seeing it in such a prominent place on the survey. never recieved such kudo's prior to it's release. I am happy and proud that our Larians are starting to get the recognition they deserve. I request that the members of the PIF participate in the survey. Gamespy is one of the largest providers of gaming information. A high score for there would put it over the top!

I am guessing they are going by the Hip release date. I don't know for sure though. We can only hope that it is released sooner, because Lar said he is trying to get a worldwide simultaneous release.

Yes, Hipgames is the U.S. publisher. And yes, their date does suck, but oh well, that is just a date. They are being responsible, and at least telling us something. Even if they are wrong.(fingers crossed)

There is also a very serious poll there at Gamespy :

Roleplay
Hack-n-Slash

That's exactly I'm discussing in the German RPG Chat and writing about now !

Please vote there !

Actually, I don't like hack & slash at all !

Quote

Fargo: This week our massive blowout of Champions of Norrath coverage really got me to thinking about that age-old debate: What's more fun? The in-depth storytelling and character development of genuine roleplaying? Or the pure rush of lots of awesome combat with cool items and weapons?

shaithis: Let me just preface my argument by saying outright: I love killin'.

Fargo: You do your parents proud.

shaithis: And hack-n-slash is all about killing, without all that other stuff to get in the way. Like laughable dialogue trees. So normally, for me, it's all about kills-per-second, and even kills per mouseclick. Unless you can describe the gameplay to me as "cutting a swath" through a level, I may get bored.

Fargo: Whenever we play massively multiplayer games together, I can always tell where your character's been because the livestock is dead and the women are crying.

shaithis: BUT, I also like to consider the style of the carnage. Swords? They'll do. But shotguns are widely accepted to be cooler. The original Fallout was right on: little bit of talkin', little bit of boomstick.

Fargo: You've obviously put a lot of thought into this...
and that frightens me.

Sorry Bean. I went back to check out Alriks RPG vs Hack and Slash, and searched for the survey. No luck. I guess I must have been there at the right time. I don't understand why these sites can't be consistant with their pop-ups!

Both the polls are still visible in the left marge of the gamespy homepage www.gamespy.com . Somewhere near the bottom left corner.

I like Gamespy for those articles. Plus they have the least biased reviews, unlike IGN. The Gamespy program is awful, though.

and a poll where you choose between fantasy setting or sci-fi stting
