Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Suggestions When Characters are bored.

What about having our character whistle or hum a tune when you leave them alone for a while, hence they show they are bored with you not playing the game, whilst making a cup of tea or whatever.
I have seen something simular before but can't for the life of me think where?

Boredom animations sound great, but lets go even further. What animations do you want your char to make?

Yeh, boredom animations. The last time I saw those was in Duke Nukem 3D (what are you waiting for?? Christmas??) and Shadow Warrior (starts to catch fly with his sticks <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> )

some more animations:

dagger jugling, sleeping, growing roots that have to be cut when you start moving again, a game of fisticuffs with you dk. dancing with you dk, set up a table and start playing poker or an other card game. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />

Well for ideas like that you only have to look at NWN there you can have your character Pray, scratch his/hers head, put her hand to her forehead as in looking far sit on the ground, dance act drunk and several more, sure these are all scripted functions, thru a "DM/Emoticon wand" but the animations are there, and if they are going to use 3d models in DD2 (which would save a lot of pixels) it is a lot easier as you make the body in parts anyway <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I remember Zanzarah. When you have a lot of time that you have left your char. without playing she was sayng "Hallo! Is anybody here? " in a cute british accent. Really nice. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

Many games have those special "idle" animations. Most platform games ("sidescrollers") that I know have them. Spaz eating that bird is a nice one <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

I got an idea about that . there could be a sort of easter egg that u find a laptop. when u find it ur charcter says sumpfing and the dk makes a sarc comment. then when u leave the game for a while ur character sits down on the ground, takesthe laptop out of his/her rucksac and starts plaing <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />.
