If Beyond Divinity is even half as good and imaginative as Divine then I can`t wait till it comes out.

I am kinda new to RPG Have a few Like Divine and Legends of Aranna and so on.

Anyways read that Beyond is going to be squad/team based Like Legends of Aranna right?

Anyways till I got FFX-2 didn`t know it was often a common practice even in team based games to have only one character feature when walking around and then suddenly have the other characters pop up from no where during battle scenes and cutscenes.

Sure hope that Beyond won`t be using such a shoddy and lazy programming system and that it will be more similar to the methods featured in Aranna were characters appear whenever and were ever they logicallly should rather than the shoddy appearing from no where and disappearing back to no where style employed in The Final fantasy series.

Also I hope that like in Divinty it will be possible to have your character walk rather than running everywhere even just to cross the room to pick up an item from the table style employed for the PC version of Stars wars knights of the old Republic.

One avatar representing a party is common practice on consoles (or games ported from consoles), but not very common in games designed for computers. The Beyond Divinity engine is modified from the Divinity one, so I don't think they could do that even if they wanted to.

Cool so are you saying that this one avatar representing a party style is not common on games made for PC`s ?

Thankfully not all that common on X Box games so far either.

Basically, he so-called X-BOX is nothing more than a standardised PC.

Well thats fine with me if it means they are less likely to do the one character representing a team like on PS2 version of FFX-2:)

I think the idea of the party being represented by a single avatar is a fine thing. It helps prevent the problems of path finding, allies getting in the way, clutterdness, etc. Of course, it only works in a certain kind of game, turn based being a good example.

The other thing with the Final Fantasy series and similar games is that you often end up with up to nine party members (of which three are active). Could you imagine what it would look like with that many people walking around manga style?

Beyond Divinity is full realtime with little border between RPing and combat, so a single avatar wouldn't suit it.
