Ah, Cartoon Networks ... The Star Wars Clone Wars Miniseries has been shown everywhere in the world - except Germany. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/memad.gif" alt="" />

Excellent, a totally <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/offtopic.gif" alt="" /> cartoon discussion.

Family Guy <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> Too many hillarious episodes.
South Park <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />
Simpsons, not really funny anymore
Futurama <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> Just watched the episode where Fry goes back in time the other night and becomes his own grandfather. Totally outstanding. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Family Guy...good
South Park...good
Simpsons...was good
Futurama...not bad

All the crappy [nocando] remakes of vintage cartoons....(ie He-man, Transformers) A vile abomination to the badassness of the originals.

Original Spiderman cartoon...ohhhhh so coo

All the crappy little kid anime and new manufactured toon....(ie toons about throwing cards or little balls at each other that attempt to teach morals without the characters facing a moral dilemma in the first place because they are too stupid to know what a dilemma is.....*inhales*....not to mention the fact that the plot of the show lacks a certain quality I like to call existence (whether or not that can be a property is another debate for somewhere else) from what I have sat thru and watched for example cartoon network during the day 1) Animation....generally so abysmally bad it looks like it was done by a person with epillepsy during a seizure 2) So stupid in content that its no wonder the average childs IQ and ability to think on his own has dwindled... 3) So weak in content as to avoid offending anyone that vanilla is going DAMNNNNNN you have no flava...... *inhales* 3) Are made to sell things not be good in themselves...(you can do both)....crappy

Sorry for criticising those cartoon soap operas.
My favourite cartoon, or is it animation, or movie even, or all three in one:

Pink Floyd The Wall (1982)

And lately, I have seen an excellent animation:

Les Triplettes de Belleville (2003)

I liked The Wall... Though I find the movie scenes better than the animated ones.

Les Triplettes de Belleville looks like a weird flick. Will see if I can find it here (I live in Canada, after all).

It is weird, it is even shocking. But, no explicit stuff or ultra violence there, it is just how the ideas were presented. I found it to be second great animation after The Wall. Highly recommend. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

The animation films I like are:
- Princess Mononoke (one of the rare anime movies I ever liked)
- Metropolis (another anime I liked)
- Heavy Metal 2000

I can't remember anything else. I found Disney's Lilo and Stich pretty funny, as well as Lion King 1/2 but those are not serious.
Also IMHO Looney Tunes are better than jetsons/flintstones/pokemon/digimon/whateverstupidcartoon there is.
Flintstones was good enough for the 80s. Original idea and such, but of all the hanna barbera cartoons, Tom and Jerry are the best.

Yeah, to me The wall is still a kind of Masterpiece somehow. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />
