Well, balance is diffícult.

Europe is indeed kind of a "middle thing", at least that's my subjective point of view.

Parts of Europe are going into the "western" direction , while other parts are rather not, but I have the feeling as if even in a country there are different "streams" of that. For example, parts of German youth are actually fond of Irish Musik. Why ? I think it's because Irish Musik stands for earth, nature, handmade, and is in a way not so materialistic than other "streams", because the Irish Musik is - at least that's my own, personal point of view, outfitted with an underlying spirituality most people don't really sense.

Another fact is that Germany is often called "Land der Dichter und Denker" meaning "country of the poets and thinkers" - Immanuel Kant is one very prominent example (okay, he didn't live in Germany, but in Königsberg , but he wrote in German, as far as I know ) .

Debates - especially debates of principles - are very difficult here, because - another subjective view - we here in Germany are trying to be sincere, just what we are known of when people think of German cars.

That's why things here are often different than in other countries.

Well, again, hat's how I see it. Other Germans might see it differently.

yep, i live in the fattest country in the world. i used to work at an ice cream store when i was in high school. we sold these banana split things that were 3 scoops of ice cream, a banana, hot fudge, caramel syrup, piles of berries and nuts, and it was all covered in whipped cream. the only people who ever bought them were not the people that should be having them.

Yeah, fat people are signs of the worlds end.....
Well, maybe if they all exploded at once.
Ever see 'the meaning of life'?

I think that would throw the Earth out of orbit, millions of people exploding in the same place at once!

Maybe the customers were the kind of people who should've had them BEFORE they had them?

They sound like the kind of people who require liposuction with a fire hose.

Hey folks, it may surprise you that some of the forum members are "Large" and some of these little jokes could be hurtful, so think before you type HUH!

Oh and before you go off at me, no I am not "Large" actually the opposite, but I have a friend who is quite big and some of the off-hand comments he gets and I eventually being the opposite is not very nice, so let's be a bit sensitive, hey what

Eating right and exercizing helps alot. I have heard that alot of this obesity is caused by eating in front of the T.V., because of all the food commercials. People tend to eat, not because they are hungry, but because they are brain washed into it on a subliminal level. Eating close to bedtime. Eating, then laying around. Eating junk food. Food is supposed to give your body energy, if it is not used in that way, it is a setup for failure. I was starting (was actually) to get overweight. I was at 155 lbs at 5 ft.3 and a half inches. Not good. I decided to change my eating habits and exercize more. I started skating again, every Saturday night for 4 hours. I have lost a bunch of weight. I am now at 126lbs! I feel like I have more energy, and I have alot more strength. Mentally and physically. All this sueing of fast food places is bullcrap. Nobody is shoving food down anybodies throat. If you change the way you think. You can change your life!
