Actually it was under demonic siege. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" /> And it was really was a war, unlike the "war" between the humans and orcs. Barbarian warriors scaling the highlands, being cut down left and right all around you by the minions of Baal, while siege engines catapulted fire and ice upon Harrogoth. There were prison camps under guard, commanders of rank that had to be taken down, etc. And all this from a hack and slash game that, for most people, doesn't qualify for an RPG.
It's not something I necessarily expect from an RPG, but I think it would be great to see something like this in a Divinity game.
That reminds of an RPG I played a long time ago called Soulbringer. I think towards the end you actually led a charge into battle. Very fun.
