I think this has been discussed before. The conclusion was that the coulnd't handle it. (I think conformation any one) Maybe in ˛ that will have a whole new engine.

That would be nice, especially if the areas in 2 are as big as in . Kind of like the Twon-ha in Outcast, which I kind of liked

As far as I know, Sacred is the first game to feature that. And I think it looks quite nice (haven't played the Demo yet).

I HAVE A GREAT IDEA!!!!!!!

I have many great and semi-great ideas. Sadly, often I am the only who think they're great...

Riding dragons? Hmm, I think they would mind to be ridden.

Oh very wrong. Ultima Online and Ultima 7 and a few other games had this feature implemented before Sacred.

I think that's a special case. I think the program would say that when an Imp Rider dies, it turns into an Imp and a Spider Corpse. When the Imp dies, it turns into an Imp Corpse and a Random Loot. So it's really a death transformation, not a creature riding another.

The other problem with riding is that it opens a whole new set of skills and opportunities. Whilst that's not bad, it takes a lot of time to develop and properly impliment. Now that everything else is working, perhaps mounts can be one of the next upgrades!

There is no need to invent a bicycle again

I mean riding horses was implemented in Dark Age of Camelot. It was simple and very handy.
There were stables all across the realm of DAOC, usually in cities or villages. There were fixed horse routes, to know them you had to obtain map or just try practising. The horse was following the road from A to B, the only thing you could do was to jump off.
So, go to the stable, approach stable-boy, buy a ticket and ride.

Actually you could just buy a horse or rent it for one day in Div for example.

The main idea was: nobody attacks you when you ride, you can attack nobody also.
Critters are just standing there ignoring you as you pass by.

You can't enter any buildings or dungeons on a horse.

That's it.

But. The realm of Camelot was huge. It could took 30-60 minutes to get from A to B on foot.

In Divinity you can use teleports. Teleports solve the problem of fast travelling. Is there really a need for horses? If just for fun?

On second thought. Here is an idea for Div2

- You buy or rent a horse. You can click on a horse to saddle it.
Then you can see animation of character saddling a horse.
- You could fight on a horse, then additional health bar for horse should be shown.
- Looking into your inventory you can see in equipped weapon right slot (shield slot) the bridle. you need at least one hand to hold it, right? So, forget about using two-handed weapons (Elves are natural archers, they could still use their bow riding a horse).

That's what I think about riding horses. The same could be with dragons or any other bigger things. As a part of the plot you could ride an imp, as punishment or maybe imp has resistance to fire and agrees to take you to the other side of that lava river.

Hmm, even more. Horse could have it's own inventory, where you could equip saddles, armour, upgraded hoofs. Horse could even have rear leg attack if positioned with it's back to an enemy. You could also store things in your horse's inventory and just use it as pack horse.

Comments pls

Um, this tread keeps mentioning the pyramids. But do we know the pyramids are making a reappearance? I mean, maybe we don't get them this time around. Does anyone know for sure? I don't recall a post or screenshot that shows us for sure, and I would think that if we are able to become a that that skill might mitigate the need.

I dunno.

My feeling on horses is, they should not just be transport, they should be a valuable ally to the main character, leveling up and developing a sort of bond with the main character, such that loosing the horse in a fight actually does hurt you, even if just because it would be a pain in the backside to teach a new low level horse the same skills your uber veteran warhorse used.

As a alternative, you could possibly play as a evil B*****d and buy a peasant to act as your horse, sort of like a episode of Blackadder I was watching a while back...
