so cold you get hail..an even better excuse to stay inside..had it yesterday..unluckily i was outside by that time...luckily i wasn't alone..
Actually the formation of hail is nothing to do with the air temperature. More the temperature gradient in the atmosphere. Ice forms so rapidly it clumps into balls (hail) rather than crystallising properly. (snow)
