Hey, wait a minute - is you DATD? Yo man, i didn't read right yesterday - cause was with a different pic - coyote - btw thanks for the links.

Yup, it's me .

I'll try to change pics less often. In fact, my next pic might me my first: Elijah Snow again. But I will keep this one for a while: I like it.

Tell me if you liked the game(s).

Good to see you again, Shyon. Welcome back.

Subject: Jazz Jackrabbit 2-3 ?

Hello,

I would like to know what happened of Project 2 .... - back to the times
when
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 was done, and a rumored Jazz Jackrabbit 3 was in
development.

As a second question, I'd like to know what's the meaning of an "Easter Egg"
hidden in "Jazz Jackrabbit 2 : Secret Files" - if anybody is still able to
remember.
At the very end of that part, there was an in-game sign reading one should
visit www.project2.com and use a password called "bunnylover" (apparently
related to Jazz Jack*rabbit* or his companions) - I've never understood it,
because since I know this game, the website is down.

As a last question I'd like to know how to get the game nowadays. Is there
still any official source for the game - the remnants of Project 2 or Epic
Megagames ?
If not - could it be then possible to give the game free for further
generations ? It is still a good game, although Jump 'n' Run games seem to
have
been dying out on the PC.

Greetings,

Ok here is the story.

Project 2 went down and out in March 2001. Project 3 was founded by some
former P2 members about half a year later.

The Easteregg "bunnylover" thing was for a contest held back then, you
cannot
win or do anything with it anymore.

I don't think there is an official source for the game, look for it on
budget shelves
in stores, but chances are it has long gone. No publisher is doing something
with the
game; after all it was first released in 1999 - long way back.

We have contacted Epic in the past to get the character of Jazz Jackrabbit
but they
wanted far too much money for it. So, I guess we buried poor old Jazz...

regards
Erik

Thanks.

Say, Mr. Kej, what levels can you recommend except your own ones ?

Personally I don't know many episodes I find really good, but then again I haven't played that many (50 at most ). I can think of only one that is really different from the pile, and that's The Lost World Epsisode by Ninja Dodo. It comes with some 3d cutscenes, which was pretty original. So I contacted Dodo, and in some distant future when Tomb rabbit 2 is released, there will be a Tomb rabbit 2 trailer released by the same guy -- yippie

As personal tastes are only personal, here's the list of custom levels etc. at Jazz2Online ordered by rating.
Obviously ordered by number of downloads gives a better idea of good levels *cough* *shrug*

Mind you, these are not only single player levels, but you can filter the list if you want.

Did you get this mail or did you get it from a forum or so? If it's from a forum, this info might be pretty dated. Pretty recently (half a year ago?) the GameBoy Advance version of Jazz Jackrabbit was released, an all new game making use of new animations (I guess Noogie wasn't available ) and partly new graphics. Not sure which team made the game, but if it's another team, it means Jazz was sold afterall. Either way, it looks like the bunny isn't burried just yet

I had a look at that Gameboy Advance version -- Project 2 (or 3) isn't mentioned anywhere, so I guess it isn't too hard to figure out what happened. From what I've seen, the name is the only thing this GBA platformer has in common with old Jazz. Apart from part of the graphics and music, but that's not what I'm talking about

Why don't you write an E-Mail to Epic ?

Simply asking what's going on with the game, if you can buy it, if there are new ones, who made the GBA version and so on .

*sigh* I see I must do it my self

I didn't know there was a Jazz Jackrabbit thread!

This used to be one of my favorite games back in the day. When there was nothing but dos games, I would play this when I wasn't playing Doom or Lemmings, etcetera.

The music in the background can get annoying after a while though (and trust me, I would be playing it for hours, beating it on one difficulty the chasing it with the next -- then I would forget the program on, and go watch TV on the other side of the room, and the music would be playing for about ten minutes before I notice it, then I notice that I've been noticing it in the back of my mind... something happens, and it get's annoying ).

Good times.

(dooo-dee-dooo... dee-dee-dee-dee-dah-dah-dah doh-dah-dee-dee-dah-dah-doh-dooo-dee-dooo... doouh-dah-doouh) I havn't played game that for many (seven?) years, and it's stil stuck in my head!

Killerzzz
