I don´t know if this is it but in Act 1 the soldiers who are talking in front of the merchant´s/doctor office in Citadel. The words seems to be taken from Asterix and Ovelix. Roman soldiers after being beaten up by Asterix and Ovelix say the same thing about joining the army...

Manuscript faking illnesses by Ignaz Krull => reminds me of Felix Krull, a con man and fake, cheating his way through life. Novel by Thomas Mann => Confessions of Felix Krull
Kiya

I was surprised to find hints about non-fantasy books and world literature

Act 2, Treasure Imp => laying out gems as a way to find back reminded me of Brothers Grimm and their story: Hansel and Gretel
