You just tell him you want to go. He tells you to touch the orb and you'll be teleported into the orb.
If you don't want to go right now, it should be possible to come back later, though.
Some say it's best to do the Imp last - as one of the jugs you can open in that universe gives you a level up (which is of course most useful when you need tons of exp to gain another level.)
